Recently I moved back to Chicago after a year long stay in Texas. I needed to go downtown to look for a job. I woke up bright and early and rushed to the train. What do I forget to do? Eat breakfast. I make the train and I head downtown. I meet up with my temp agency, and they make me fill out tons of paper work. All the while my stomach is making all kinds of weird noises. So what do I do? I take out a piece of gum and start munchin'. All of a sudden my stomach starts to get louder because I'm giving it a total fake out. I try to cough it off and pretend its not me, but everyone knew... I didn't have breakfast.
Finally I finish my paperwork and I get to talk to my supervisor. She set me up with a job for Friday and I was a made woman. As soon as I left that office all I could think about was food. The first thing that hit my mind was a McDonald's I'd seen a few blocks up. I was already thinking about how I was gonna get a nice salad to keep away from all that greese. Then, I saw it... JIMMY JOHNS! I hadn't eaten there for an entire year since I'd left. I stoped dead in my tracks and made a b-line straight to Jimmy's.
I ordered an 8" turkey sub and a drink. I watched the guy make it as I salavated like a hungry dog. He called my number and I happily grabbed my sub. I sat a a table and sank my teeth into the "oh so appetizing" sub. As I started to chew, I could feel that all of my senses were in complete satisfaction. I was smiling and chewing, chewing and smiling. The feeling I got from eating that sub felt better than sex. I was completely satisfied mentally and physically and I enjoyed every minute of my lunch.
After I left, I was on top of the world! I had an extra pep in my step, everyone seemed to be smiling and happy. Even the sun popped out from the clouds just for a little while. I will never forget the feeling of complete satisfaction I had from today. Even as I write this journal, it is still the best day ever.
