Music: I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing
Chapter 4
I could feel his tensed muscles relax under my touch. He leaned closer, as if trying to return a kiss. His blood was sweeter than I had expected, but still iron-rich and delicious. So much so thatm though I had meant to take a small, measured sip, I found myself sucking more than my share of his warm, red blood; gorging myself and moaning in delight. He relaxed even more against me and I stopped my snack in surprise. I looked down at his face, stepping away as I did so, yet keeping a firm grip on his shoulders. His head lolled on his neck, his tan skin now pale and sallow. His eyes no longer popped from their sockets, but stared--glazed and unseeing--at something over my shoulder. In shock, I relaxed my grip, and he slid to the ground in a crumpled heap.
"Bugger," I muttered in a voice filled with self-loathing, "I could've sworn I drank less than five pints. Blast! I can't believe I was such a glutton!"
The sound of shells cruching beneath a dainty foot distracted me from my self-hate fest. I whirled around and came face to face with...her. The woman who had been marooned here with the empty shell of a man that lay at my feet. She stared at me, a look of horror in her brown eyes.
"Oh my God," she gasped, "What--what have you done?"
"Well, hello poppet," I sneered, avoiding the question, "and who, might I ask, are you?"
She had shivered, as though at a bad memory, when I called her "poppet", but she now stood tall and looked at me in such a way that I almost thought if she was tall enough she'd be looking down her nose at me.
"I asked you a question first," she said in a voice that could boil the seven seas.
"Ah, forgive my boldness, m'lady," I said with a sarcastic edge to my voic, sweeping an exaggeratedly low bow, "but I'm a pirate captain, and I believe I have seniority over a young slip of a girl like yourself. Now, I ask again: Who are you?"
"I-I'm Elizabeth Swann, C-Captain," she quailed beneath my gaze.
"Elizabeth Swann, eh? Lovely name, darlin'," I walked toward her; more gliding than walking now that my "true" nature had been revealed, "And you should know, I don't take very lightly to bein' questioned." My voice became cold, hard, and sharp as the tempered steel of my cutlass. "You should also know never to anger a vampyr."
She gasped.
"Oh come on. Why do you think I bit that heap of human flesh's neck, deary? What other creatures on the seven seas would do that type of thing?"
"W-well..." she stuttered. I pushed a lock of her wavy brown hair away from her face and leaned down to whisper in her ear.
"None, eh...Lizzie?"

So, no Elizabeth Swann's entered the picture. Hm...could that mean that the man(now dead man) might be Captain Jack Sparrow?! Read my next post to find out! Comments please!
