Kuro
Chapter 2
Treecko was the first to rise that morning. It was only natural for the wood gecko to awaken first, today was the first day away from home, away from stubborn roommates, away from the stuffy old lab. Treecko ran off and collected some fruit and water, and laid it out. Kuro awoke right when Treecko returned with the water. "Where'd you get that buddy?" Treecko pointed over twoards where a river could be heard. Where there's water, there's a river or lake, where's there's a river or lake, there is fish! Kuro reached into his backpack and pulled out his Good Rod he'd recieved for his 6th birthday from Mrs. Ketchum. "Come on Treecko, let's catch us some breakfast!" Treecko nodded and jumped onto his shoulder to come along.
When they reached the river, Kuro laid down his Pokeballs next to him, took out his Rod, cast it into the river, and began to fish. Treecko, feeling especially playful at the time, found a long blade of tall grass, picked it, and began to pretend to fish, just like his Master. Before Kuro could even smile at Treecko's playfulness, his rod began tugging especially hard. With a snap, a tug, and a long reeling, he brought in a Shiny Magikarp, it's golden scales glittered as it flew through the air. Kuro was astonished, a GOLDEN Magikarp! This was the biggest oppertunity of his life! As Kuro grabbed one of his Pokeballs and then stared into the Magikarp's eyes. They looked scared, as if it were staring into the face of Death itself. Overwhelmed by a sense of sympathy, Kuro motioned twoards the river, "Get out of here," He sighed. People today say that the Magikarp was thankful for him sparing his life, or maybe it just felt sorry for him, but nobody truely knows why this next event happened. the Magikarp bounced over, tapped one of Kuro's Pokeballs to make it grow, then tapped it again. The ball opened up, and in a flash of white light, Magikarp disappeared into the ball. It shook once..... twice.....three times....and then, dinged. Kuro looked over to discover the Golden Magikarp had jumped into one of his Pokeballs. His pocket began to vibrate as he tried to take this in, he pulled out his Pokedex from his pocket and opened it up, Information on Magikarp popped onto the screen.

After a quick breakfast, and a quick introduction between Magikarp and Treecko, the Gang hit the road again. Hours passed, the sun ducked behind clouds overhead. A slight breeze blew overhead, the grass seemed to dance in the wind. After a couple more hours, they wound up at a memorial site. It was the exact place where the Champion and his Pikachu fought off a gigantic flock of Spearow. The grass was still blackened by the Thunder attack, the smell of burning plants filled the air and enveloped the senses. After completely checking out the area, the gang continued on. A couple yards ahead was a sign post. Kuro ran up and read it to Treecko.
Attention!
Beware of Flocks of Spearow up ahead.
Please don't catch any Pidgey in this area
If you See Pidgeot, please pay him my respects.

Both of them nodded solemnly, and continued on. After about a hour or so, they bumped into a Fearow. Kuro leaned down and whispered to Treecko, "That must be the leader of the Spearow flocks" Treecko nodded. They began to try to sneak past the Fearow, but as they began, the Fearow turned directly in their direction. With a cry, it jumped into the air and flew straight at Treecko, Kuro jumped in front of Treecko and braced for impact when he heard a cry, it sounded like the cry of a Pidgeotto. He opened one eye to see a Pidgeot in front of them. It turned to them and nodded, as if trying to say, "I'll protect you." Kuro and Treecko sighed a sigh of relief. Pidgeot flew over to Fearow and slammed into Fearow using Wing attack. Fearow hit the ground with a thud, unconscience. "Thank you" Kuro bowed polietly. Pidgeot nodded, and went to take off. "Wait!" Kuro cried, Pidgeot faced them, "Your old trainer gives his regards." Pidgeot smiled, as if very thankful for the message, then took off to return to the flock. Kuro turned to Treecko, "We're going to become as great as the Champion one day!" Treecko smiled, and then pointed ahead Kuro looked to see Viridian City was right in front of them. They were there! Now they could finally sign up for the Pokemon League! what lied ahead? Only the future could tell!
