And now for something completely different...
...or as different as a damned blog can be, anyway. It started out as a project, it devolved into a chronicling of my misanthropy, rage, and occasional fits of glee. It sounds good, though, and might even make you laugh.
...and a pony.
My buttons and color and special title mean that I have things most Gaians don't. Because I have those things, people come to me when they have questions or troubles on Gaia. I'm cool with that, I'm here to help users as well as the admins, so being asked questions is all part of the territory. Most of the time, people ask something and I answer, and that's the end of it. Sometimes, though, I find the kid who tied up Santa's lap for 30 minutes with a titanic list of demands (despite the fact that these kids, they were always shits who topped the Naughty list). I will help. I will go out of my way to help, or take time to help. That's why we're all here, those of us with the shiny green names. But there is a limit. For example, if you were banned for password scamming, do not ask me to unban you. If you were banned for trolling or hacking or something else you were warned about, do not ask me to get your items and give them to your new account (I can't anyway, it's not my area). If your post was deleted because it was abusive, do not ask me to wipe out the warning or put it back. Even if I did these things, they would be useless, serving only to get my a** booted out; you'd be re-banned or whatever else while they were in mucking about taking me off the site with you. You would have another few hours, maybe a day or two with your items or old account, and I would lose everything. Comprehend this. When people ask staff members to do something like this, they are saying, "I want this badly enough that you should lose your position and the trust your team members have placed in you, and I don't care about that anyway." That's rude in the extreme. If you want an appeal, go through the Feedback Form. If the appeal doesn't work out, deal with it; make a new account and go forward with the lesson you learned. Don't ask someone to be dismissed because you want the world with a cherry on top. That's taking advantage of someone's good nature and dedication, and that is a pretty awful thing to do.

...Deliver me from all of this sadness...

Some users just don't have common sense.

I love my Mod Gods, but a lot of users don't have respect for them because of bad threads against them, especially in the SF forum. Sure, Gaia may need more moderators, but the ones we have now are outstanding and shouldn't be blamed. D:<<

I think the heart of what gets to me is that these people, who are generally total strangers to us, are asking us to give up everything we've worked for/spent time on just to get them something for a few hours. That's like asking a cop to let you out of jail; the cop will be fired (or worse) and the other cops will just find you and imprison you again, because that's what they do. It's so insulting to have someone say, "Your work and priveliges are worthless next to my items." Um, no?
