Fire Tyger
Flames cascade from his face
And roll along his back
Sunlight tiger
stripes of the blackest night
Smolder like the charcoal they are.
And perched on his back
Holding on to his flame fur
That doesn’t singe my skin
I am content to watch him destroy the world.
His paws leave behind a trail of ash
A last tracking device
But we can shake anything
Even gravity.
Our only enemy is the sea
Who’s rhythmic pull
Is ever so enticing.
I feel the heat but it doesn’t burn
His roar is the sound of a super nova dying
Which means it makes no sound at all.
I wish I could sink below his flaming pelt
And feel that heat forever
I could be his voice and eyes
And I could feel the power of the sun in every paw.
His teeth and claws are seeking destruction
And I wonder what it would feel like
To have sunlight rip through your flesh.
