So I guess it's probably time I actually write in this entry. I was going to just add this to my other account's journal but it's not really a rant so I'd rather do it here.
If you know me, you know I'm not a very happy person. I used to do fake smiles and stuff when I was at work because I didn't want my boss to have a bad idea about me...or something. Anyway. After how work has been going lately, I stopped doing that.
I was opening the store a couple days ago and this random old lady just came in and she said something like that I didn't look very happy. I told her that I wasn't most of the time. But I mean hey, who's ever happy at work? Of course I thought she was talking about work but she was just talking about in general... which is also true too. She didn't say much after that and went into the store.
I started doing my job again and was hanging up clothes when she calls to me over by the tanktops. She had this twenty dollar bill in her hand and put it in my pocket. I told her I wasn't allowed to take it but she gave it to me anyway. Luckily the cameras don't have a good view of where we were standing or else I would have been fired. Then she starts saying "you look like a person that has something wrong in their life" and then she asks me if I was married... I said no... then she asked me if I was abused or if I was unhappy with life at home. All I could do was whisper "not anymore".
She went on with shopping and I continued to work awhile after that. But the whole day I kept thinking about how she actually cared how I was doing and she didn't even know me.
Also that day she ended up spending over 400 dollars (and where I work you can get TONS of stuff for that price. It took me and someone else at least 20 minutes to take all the hangers off the clothes she bought) on things to give to kids that don't have anything.
I don't think I'll ever forget that lady.
