The room started to spin, my throat was burning, and i had been coughing up blood into my hands. I didn't want to stop, but, how could i continue with everything fading away? The lights, the crowd, even the feedback from the amps, all faded to a dull murmer.
I think i should start from the beginning. My name is...
"Yo! We got a show to do, move your a** or we'll start without you," shouted a rather friendly bandmate, Ken. He was average height and kinda skinny, then again we all were. Ken played guitar just like me, we'd had so much fun when we practice, somehow it was as if we were born to play together we matched up perfectly. He smiled at me, and I smiled back.
"Should you be more worried about yourself and T?" I shouted back "Usually i was the first one ready and out there, and i plan to continue that." T is what we called him, he never really gave us his real name, just said call me T. So we did, and for a while it didn't matter till i started getting curious, but i'll save that for later. T was our bass player. He wasn't the best out there, not that he was terrible. Still the best left handed bassist I'd seen, mainly cause i hadn't seen many. But T could lay a bassline down that just trembled and rattled your sould. All i had to do was meet the guy and i wanted him in the band. We got along like brothers, maybe closer. It was kinda scary sometimes cause we'd finish eachother's sentaces sometimes and often acted alike. Ken always joked around by calling us by eachother's name.
Ken shrugged and walked away, i followed shortly after. Whenever you get out on stage infront of any sized crowd, it's always breath-taking, at least it was to me. The lights, the screaming of the crowd as we walked out onto stage. Although, in this case, the crowd was kinda silent. I say "kinda" because you could still hear them say "Who are these guys again?" or "I've never heard of them before." We weren't well known then. Not surprising they didn't know who we were.
"How's everyone doin' tonight?" I said into the microphone amidst a short bust for a rift on guitar played from ken ans the crowd roars back. We looked at eachother like we weren't impressed. "I said, How's everyone doin tonight!?" This time i added in my own burst on guitar along with Ken's. The crowd was now alive, cocked, and loaded. They roared back even louder and we start playin' our set list.
The night went pretty well, we didn't get an encore but, what would you expect? We were some local town band no one had heard of, and half of them probably forgot our name. There's always next time.
