It's always the times that it isn't enough that you remember, but it's always stressful when your best isn't enough. I mean, once you've given all you can, what else can you do? You can sit there and point at the pile of stuff you've already given, but that doesn't make it grow or make it the stuff people want. It's like a pile of really expensive, really lovingly selected, really horrible Christmas gifts. That's all other people can give, and you can't or won't make yourself like them.
I say this knowing, of course, that I took on being a babysitter-slash-high-school-teacher for free.
Really, most of the people I've been giving to lately have been great, and many of those have surprised me by actually liking the expensive but maybe bad Christmas gifts I've brought them. There's always the exception that makes you feel exhausted and frustrated, and like if you could only do a little more it would be okay. Blrg. I can't, though, and I have to remember that. And I want to thank everyone who's been understanding and cooperative and kind when I've been telling you bad news. It really is a pleasure to volunteer here at times like that.

And now for something completely different...
...or as different as a damned blog can be, anyway. It started out as a project, it devolved into a chronicling of my misanthropy, rage, and occasional fits of glee. It sounds good, though, and might even make you laugh.
