can't/couldn't sleep, so i worked on lupum's avi art a bit, and did some red sketched for people in the WIP forum. i always find that crits about proportions and such are easier to understand when one has a picture to reference, so when i am feeling rather magnanimous i sketch one up.
oooh. that leads me to one of my biggest pet peeves:
"i know this sucks a lot but i posted it here anyways"
if you REALLY think your picture sucks, redo it. keep it at your house, hide it, bury it deep within your shame... anything! but for the love of zeus don't go flaunt it about. a person who truly believes a piece of work sucks would not psot that picture on an art display forum! so that means that he or she is pity whoring. oh how i loathe pity whoring.
i guess some people might do it out of some misguided notion that people will only like you if you have false modesty... but saying 'this sucks, i know' isn't being modest, grrr!!!!
oh! and another thing! if you want crits, and say 'hey, please crit this' don't then after people submit crits go 'oh, well, i knew that the hand was bad.' or 'yea, i didn't want anyone to talk about the coloring.' if you know what is wrong with it FIX IT! put some time into your pieces before posting them!
