They are the fire that keeps me warm
When winter’s fingers chill me to the bone.
They are the shoulder that I cry on
When love takes an unexpected turn.
They are the hand that I squeeze
When pain comes swooping in.
They are the shelter I make
When I’m alone and afraid, to keep me from the rain.
They are the strong hand and gentle smile
That picks me up when I fall.
They are the arrow that points the way
When I’m not quite sure where to go.
They mean more to me than money or gold
More than anything I could buy
They’re always there for me,
No matter what happens.
They make me who I am,
And they keep me alive.
I owe everything I have to them
They are my friends.
