from thrusday until today I was at an FTX with ROTC we went to camp atterbury and trained, some of it was useful, some was fun and some was just plain funny , or maybe it semmed funnier because we were sleep deprived. But all and all it was fun.
day one we get there and sit around waiting for insructions, then set up for the night, do some pratrol base rehersals and call it a night after setting up firegurad watch...
day 2 we got up grabed our rucks and hiked out to the confidence coarse, and ran about, and climbed things, unfortunatly it's not very short people friendly, (I feel bad for one of my friends) which made accomplishing some tasks, how do we say.... well interesting...
then we ate MRE's and then it was time for land navigation which I'm glad who I paired myself up with becuase together we found 6 of 8 points which where all correct but it did take more than the alotted time. after that we hiked out to where we were doing a patroll base for the night and spent the night chashing away raccoons. they were doing frontal attacks, and raids, as well as other satigic manuvers... all they got was someones tooth paste which they bit right thru the middle of the tube.
after a long night of coyaties and racconos, we got up and went to the stic lanes adn performed attack menuvers on imaginary ememies, I got "killed twice" one by my own side for they threw the gernade too clse and the other after being wounded I was laying down surpressive fire and was knocked out when a morter came in... after that we did a team buddy carry, then lunch.
following lunch was repelling down a wall and free repple, the later of the two I got my hand cammed into the wall and rope and then lost my handling and begain to fall which had it not been for the MS 4 on duty who yelled at the belayer ( dude holding the bottom of the rope who can stop a falling person by puling the rope down) that hey that person is falling and then he was like opps, and pulled the rope tight. well i wouldn't be dead, but i would have been injured maybe a break. anyways I survived him, and went on a helicoper hide (a black hawk) those are SO COOL!!
after that it was pretty much get our sleves packed up some more classes and shower time which I really enjoyed after not getting a shower while in the feild. we pulled fire watch after out sister battions quit... (longer story) so I got a grand total of hmm, I think 12 hours from thursday night till now of sleep....
all we did today was get up eat, go to the closeing cermony load up and drive 5 hours back. so yeah long weekend, in which I got NO homework done...
