I got FOUR goldfishies at a carnival tonight! @_@ I know it's bad to support an industry that gives live animals away as prizes to those who probably won't bother to care for them properly, but.. THEY WERE SO CUTE. I had to rescue them! </3 They're swimming around with our blind cave fish in our nasty dirty tank right now, which I will try to either renovate or replace soon. I'll be naming them in the morning, or when I can come up with some good names. There's a small gold one, a large gold one, a small grey one, and a large grey one. And they are adorable. heart Sleep well, little guys! :3



Round Twenty-Five



my hair is a rat's nest
an oily mess
blech

sometimes I wonder

how hard would it be
and how hard would I have to pull
to unravel myself from the top down
into skeins of fine slick hairs

all that is myself pouring away
roiling and frothing
as Titania and Freyja
drive their chariots
through the muck pouring down
from the crown

and in the morning I'd wake
feeling drained
and needing something hot to drink

I'd wrap myself in a quilt
and laugh at poems
about writing poetry.
