Wow, I'm actually journalling this one on the day I wrote it. xP I've wanted to try Sapphic stanzas for a while. They were a serious challenge for me, not only because the form is a bit difficult but because I have serious trouble hearing the beats of words, so constructing the trochees and dactyls was a feat in and of itself. These two are my first, so they're not very good, but I look forward to working with this form again in the future. Hopefully I can improve. :3
Round Seven
Sunlight softly blundering up your tilted
face, your cheek and lip, swims down blankets, pillows
flipped to catch the cooler side; waking winds go
tremulous, loving.
Shyly sitting sideways on rumpled bedsheets,
toes are curling carpeting, always anxious.
Days are long and brighter now (not the work of
sunlight or seasons.)
