Round Two - KAWAII Mushroom Time
Mushrooming under the smoky leaf ceiling,
keeping fired clay teapots on the boil
is busy work-
"It's Japanese for cute"
- so maneki-neko props up the splinter-shingled
roof.
The sun leaks through the afternoon
like genmaicha-
"the inside of the teapot is stained over time
to improve the flavour"
- scuttling under dried maple hands
to giggle & gather
matsuri season is coming
(kawaii mushroom time)
