Godi's daily ponderings
The events of the day that I feel are important, my thoughts on certain subjects, the occasional rant and whatever else I feel the urge to write about.
The Grayest of Days
Incase any of you have been living under a rock, and haven't been listening to the news, the Pope died about 3 hours ago.

It's strange to think of the processes that the Church will be going through over the next few days and weeks.

We've only had one Pope in our lifetime and the process of selecting another is just about to begin. It actually upset me that some of reporters on CNN that were doing the news coverage weren't talking about the Pope himself, remembering him for the man that he was, but were trying to analyse the politics of the Church. They were trying to plot out the strategy of the Church in electing the next Pope.

I found it so disrespectful. For once, could they stop trying to impress other people with how much they know, how strategic their minds are and focus on what's really important; the passing of a truely great man.

This is a time to greive, not to predict power plays. I don't care if he's protestant, he could have a little more respect for the millions of catholics watching.

This is probably one of the most impactful event we'll go through during the course of our lives. All we can do is pray for the soul of Pope John Paul II, pray for our future Pope and the future of our faith.
