• Chapter 2

    Jordan

Well here was the day I was dreading…the first day of high school. I was so frightened. My parents moved us to a new town in the middle of nowhere. We moved to southern Washington because my parents wanted to try to get me to forget what…happened to my sister and me last year. No one could ever make me forget what I did to her. I walked up to the front of the school thinking about this, tears streaming my face. I hurried and wiped them off with my sleeve and pulled out my class schedule.
I started walking looking for my first class in building 400. I wasn’t sure where it was. Why would they have buildings numbered? They were so hard to find. I looked quickly at my schedule again and I felt my shoulder shove backwards and I looked to see who I ran into. He had curly brown hair and hazel eyes that looked at me in wonder.
Once I realized that I hit him and I got my thoughts together instead of looking in his eyes again getting lost I mashed all my words together in apology, “Oh! I’m sorry. Did I hurt you?” He smiled at me as I gathered my papers I guess I had dropped at the moment. “Yes, I’m alright,” he smiled again and took my schedule. “Oh. You’re new. Lets see your next class.” He quickly glanced over my paper. “You have my next class Lindsey.” “How did you know my name?” I stared at him with confusion.
He was so cute but I had to keep my brain focused. If I don’t pay attention he might think I’m mentally challenged or something. He handed me back my schedule and laughed. “Its on your information in your schedule,” he took my wrist and led the way, “ here let me show you.” I blushed but I was hoping he didn’t see. I can’t lose it and only concentrate on boys. I have to stay in focus and keep doing well in school. But I couldn’t help being with him. I just met him and…my heart is already in my throat.
He chuckled and let go of my hand when we reached our class. “You can sit by me if you want. I’m already a loner in this class.” He smiled and sat in the back row of the class with one empty seat there. I quietly walked back there and set my books down and hoped I wouldn’t say anything stupid. “So, how are you liking it here so far Lindsey?” He asked me looking at me with curious eyes. “Its alright. Its really big though.” “Yea but once you settle you wont lose your way.” I looked at him and smiled as sweetly as I could and his answering smile took my breath away.
“Hey Jordan who is the new girl?” I heard someone say. I turned and there was a baby faced boy there smiling at me and he was really close. Too close for me. I backed up a little bit. “Oh hi Tony. This is Lindsey Park, she is new here. Lindsey this is Tony and I forgot to introduce myself as well.” When I turned he smiled at me and shook my hand. “I’m Jordan Collins. Welcome to our high school.”
