The time is during an unknown part of history. A time that was purposely erased for the protection of the future generations and to protect those of the magics and mages. During this time it was discovered that the mind had more than one magical subconcious, seven to be precise. It was here that it was found the mind in its tapping of more than two magical subconciouses could do many extrodinary things. What was first discovered was that if people tapped into their subconciouses they could better control their magics and not be enveloped by it which happened to those who often had alot of power. Many mages and those born in the magics were able to learn about their magical being and control it much better than previous generations.
Sadly another discovery was found by tapping into the other five subconciouses. Magic is not fully belonging to the weilder there is a part of magic that has a mind of its own...a part that often is an abyss. This magic was given the name of 'Mlya'. Mlya the magic that is a mental trap, is the world in the mage's mind. Mlya is the dark abyss that takes form in a mage when they give into their magics and taken over by it. And once Mlya takes over you, it is extremely hard coming back, often most give in to escape the hardships in the world. Mlya to them is a place where they don't have to feel pain a world of their own that they can form. And because tapping into the other five conciouses put you're body into a coma state, going being taken over my the Mlya means you never awake, unless you something binding you into the real world...but most don't come back.
The story begins in a land called Praeclarus, the world's magics captial. A group of mages just came out of their subconcious training, three have yet to awake. A mindwalker shakes her head and sighs. Three more were lost to Mlya.
A man standing in the back of the room grunts in frustration.
"Why does this keep happening?!"
He shouted then slammed his fist into the wall he was leaning on. He looked at the three mages. They were about the age of nineteen, the legal age for magic releasing. Anyone under that age wouldn't be able to handle the mental pressure and concentration it required. Sometimes a few are denied magical power at all if their mind are too chaotic or are under so much pressure.
