Intermission II: Death
What do you think happened when Lucifer died? Do you believe the seraphim cried, Spun around and shuttered with fear To see their beloved's wings clipped dear?
Or do you believe they mocked him with self righteous cheers? Did he hang his head in shame And wash away by self-pitying wallows? And so does he wear the crown of Holy hell in contempt and rage? A promise of fullfillment, pitiful boy.
But does the music make your ears bleed, dear? Does the blindness help you see The water's shallow? From where you stand, You're not quite in over your head. Pull yourself up to your reflection's surface. Taste the sweetened, smokey air And stare him back within his cage. Lock him up in triumph, pitiful boy, Shun him from every presence of light. Yet you walk the streets dazily In the silver blossoming moon, Simply to come home and cry your walls blue. Shattering memories of him Has its tightening grip on you.
Did you hang yourself in the church In hopes of seeing me again? Has he hidden your sleeping soul, dear?
Now tell me, nephilim, is this what you are about to Become?
it is part of an old poem i wrote. my favorite poem that i have ever written. i'll possible post Parts I, III-VI too.
