POEM 21 - Beloved
A weary night, which held no fright, Was one where I lay in my bed, Not knowing the fears that lay ahead, I was woken that night, and saw a sight, Of my beloved one lying down dead, Or was it all just in my head?
I sat and screamed, and reality seemed, To shiver in my beneath my cries, My mother stormed to see my beloved lie, She ran to the phone and dialed no threes, But three nines for the police to come, And find the culprit, the murderous scum.
The police finally came, and went to where she lay, With her hair long and brown, But her mouth in a deep frown, A bullet had been in her head that day, From a small gun, which noone could say, There I lied, crying in sway, At my beloved's body, lying, crippled, dead...
A few mistakes in this. Wrote on Friday 16th June 2006.
