I just found out last week that the recordings All-State Orchestra Auditions are due on Monday, and I hadn't even began to look at the excerpt or anything! But I'm gonna try... I'm freaking out though, cuz the excerpt is super fast and has lots of triplets... I hate triplets! Ugh, hopefully I'll be more prepared for All-State Band auditions. I know I will be, cuz they're not till December. But Lauren just had to go and pick harder music this year! My oboe instructor, Lauren Murray, is the judge for Colorado All-State Band oboe auditions, so she picks the audition etudes. The auditions are the easiest part, though. I was shocked by how easy the music was last year. But of course, that was only for the concert band... but still, it was easier than my school band music. We're playing easier stuff in school this year though ( cry ) cuz like half the band graduated last year. God, I miss them so much! But I'll probably never see half of them again...
