“AAH! I’m gonna die!” Elyon screamed into my ear.
“No! My ear is if you keep screaming like that!” I yelled back.
“No! I didn’t study at all for the test today!” Elyon wailed.
Eylon and I walked along the sidewalk to school. Her blond hair in a braid along her back tied to a ring at the end. She was almost as tall as me at her age of 13. I was a tall 14-year-old with long brown pulled back into a ponytail as long enough to almost reach my waist. We were both thin and shared a lot of the same interests.
“You don’t have to worry about the Element tests because you’re so talented in your element. I’m not so talented, and you even have a harder element than I do!” Eylon protested.
“Fire’s not that hard.” I remarked as I spun a little fire around my finger.
“Here we are.” Eylon sighed.
Eylon and I both take a class called Element Fighter 101. Each person on our planet is born with some kind of elemental power. Mine is fire while Eylon’s is water. Each power is different. Two people may have the same type of power, but they will be completely different- especially in battle. They say fire is the hardest element to control, but it’s also the strongest.
My hand twitched with anticipated the very thought of battle. It’s a price you have to pay with a power as strong as fire- bloodthrist. It gets out of hand sometimes, but I’ve been able to control it so far. Each time I went into that state, that thristyness for blood, it got harder and harder to control. My only fear is not being able to control myself and killing those precious to me.
And speaking of those precious to me, I spotted a certain boy named Maxx dragging his feet through the school’s main door. He had brown hair darker than mine all in a fury. He was taller than me, which I hated. His kind blue eyes didn’t match his element at all. His element was almost as deadly as my own. He could control and tame dragons. They say he could even transform into one, but I don’t believe them. That would be devastating for several reasons. Some reasons are too horrible to speak of…
As I was lost in my thoughts, I didn’t recognize the huge power surge behind me. Boooooommm! I turned around in time to see rumble flying in all directions. In the center of all the destruction, was a figure hidden in the shadows. His magical aura surged with powerful magic- enough power to be afraid. I didn’t exactly know how, but I felt like I knew this dark aura. I felt like I had met him somewhere, but … how?
