Don't look if you have problems with me disagreeing with it. --------------- I initially posted it in a thread in the Q&F, which some of you may have seen. First, someone said how most old rich users are elitists, someone accused him of stereotyping, and then this lovely little lady posted the following. Maiyra And as for you guys telling him he stereotyped. Nay, not really. The man said "many" he didn't say all. And he's right you know; he's very much so right. "many" not all, but "many" of the older users or users with hellacious gold out of the ying yang act stuck up, and are in every sense of the word, elitist pricks Honestly, I've had it up to my eyeballs with this type of attitude. There are PLENTY of us who are old and "rich" or whatever who are being seriously hurt by this. I can't help but take it personally. I try my best to be nice, but apparently most of Gaia can't look past my "good" items. Isn't this just as bad as misjudging people for their peasant pants? So I couldn't take it. I replied... Moonblossom And half the people participating in this silly ruse are hypocritical sycophants who are only doing it to appear "better" than those of us who have no qualms about admitting that we love our items. If Gaia was only about the talking, we wouldn't HAVE avatars. It's part of the fun, and this whole "it's not about the gold and items" sentiment is entirely misguided. If it wasn't, there wouldn't be gold and items. Yes, I have over 300 items. Yes, I have over 550 000 gold. I still help anyone who needs it here in the Q&F, regardless of their flame pants or halo, I still reply to every inane random PM I get (assuming it's not spam or vulgarity), and I still judge everyone I come across on post content, not on items. I'm sick and bloody tired of this "rich old gaian = crabby old elitist" nonsense. It's really starting to hurt my feelings. Some of us try and try and try to be nice, and all we get in return is crap. ;_; I know some people who might read this are participating, and that's fine. This journal is only open to my friends, and I have enough faith in anyone on that list to know that you're doing it for good reasons, not bad ones. 	Yeah. I think there is a certain contingent with the 'nakie day' crowd who wants to prove they're better than anyone else because they don't care about the items. I don't think that's the intent behind it from those starting it... but I do think some have that kind of attitude about it... IE: If you don't participate, you're a greedy rich elitest. Even if I only had one outfit to my name... I still wouldn't participate. I seriously doubt that there's anything aside from a glitch in which I had no choice that could get me to parade around in my underwear. Swimsuits... okay.. peasant clothes... no problem... but I'm not parading around in my underwear, I don't care how good the cause is. sighs Stereotyping is just bad. 	hugs Kava Thanks hun. I agree, it started out with very noble intentions. I'd actually considered participating it when I first heard about it. Now it's just gotten so out of hand and so tainted with this "Holier than Thou" attitude, it just revolts me. And just watch.. After it, random people will be bitching in the Q&F about a lack of Admin involvement and no free items. 	I'll admit, I initially wanted to participate in Nakie Day, since the theme seemed very noble. However, as the days progressed, and the recruiting increased, it seemed that many people just wanted to participate in order to poke fun at those "rich snotty people." The last thing I wanted to do was to do something like that, so I backed out. 	I think you forget that most people who are "known to the public" for their richness usually announced that to the crowd themselfs. Sure, a lot of people just have old items, but never started to pimp around with it. These kiddos (you and me included ninja ) Wont be noticed by the anti-elitist mob. hell! 	sigh people who judge on sight are the kind of people I think we could do better with less of them around. I'll give an example of how things should be done. I saw and met you moony and I didn't think anything of you until you posted and "said" some things, yeah I thought you had a lot of items and that's cool but not like I went "Oh she has a devil, omfg stuck up snob". And it turns out..you're not one xp You're actually one of the nicest Gaians I've met. These others who claim the older gaians with minis, d-tails, and Halos are stuck up are wrong. 	Most people think the higher, older, and richer Gaians are stuck up, I believe they are wrong. What happens if the whiner gets the money and items? They'd gloat like no tommorow. See, I'm humble when it comes to items. Like I would really love to have NM minis and ports, but I don't need them like some of those hipocrites say they do... 	Well, truly, tell me: What is the definition of a nice Gaian? The person who talks to you for hours over a pm just to make sure you are okay even though they just met you on gaia today and otherwise would have never known you existed? -Or- Is it the person who donates a OMG to you just because you begged them for the past ten pages, despite your clear illiteracy throughout all of them. I find a lot of the gaians that say "old rich gaians = rude 'p*k' that still scramble for every last bit of gold" go off of the second one. They think that it is the duty of people with more gold, to spread the weath and to spread it as thick as colestoral from 10 inches of butter on toast domokun . Mmmmm Toast! (<--- beside the point). I find the truly nice people are the first people, or another I didn't list. There is the saying: Saying Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, but teach him how to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime. I don't know if you remember my friend who is showing me the ropes on exchange whoring, but instead of just loaning me 400k and going from there, he is teaching me to earn good hefty profits so I can whenever I need to, that is another kind of nice person, especially when the combine with choice A. I double Dark Lords wager, I know many a people that would flaunt every last peice of gold at every chance they could get if they had it.
