The new drama teacher sucks. Hard.
First off, auditions for Arsenic and Old Lace started with cold readings. You don't do a monologue unless you're asked to come to callbacks. Any twit with a half knowledge of theater knows that you start with monologues to evaluate the person's acting ability, then use cold readings at callbacks to evaluate how they would fit in a part. Second, the auditions today were MISERABLE. The sign-up sheet was like, "write down a time." So everyone just came at four o'clock. She planned for auditions to take half an hour max. They took TWO HOURS OF MY LIFE!!!! And I am tired, and sore, and really hope she shows more competence as a director. Or maybe she should just quit now.
