Okay, i disagree with your opinion.
First , i never said it was a one to one comparison.
You also have to admit that the symbology and similarities are there .
Dark YLves , deal with a supernatural being . Check
Super natural being is symbolized by the moon. Check.
Super natural being can posses a host body . Check.
Super natural being requires blood sacrifice . Check.
Also, like i said , there is room enough in the timeline for this . Remember we don't know how far in the past the Dark YLVES existed. ( i did say " ancient ancestors " )
Not only that , we also don't know if the story is " History HISTORY " , ( just because of the title of the item ? Nah, i don't think we can blindly confide in that. The title is written in what appears to be another language . Meaning , there will be mistranslations and variations. ) OR a Legend.
On your point of it being a Demon in the book/pact. Since , it was ancient times , and a different culture, we don't know who or what they worshiped . We also don't know that Nyx did not assume a different form at that point. ( he can jump into different bodies ). We also don't know if Nyx was even recognized as a god at that point either .
I mean look at " Satan " . In pop culture today , and " chirstian culture " overall , he is known as the main " bad guy " . Horns , tail , and red skin .
But, if you look at the origin of the word . You find more nuance . It comes from the Hebrew , which means " adversary ". And if you look at the context in which it was used , you will find that God appointed an Angel as an adversary . The word was even used to describe humans or people . ( As in " the king of such and such " the adversary of the Hebrew people ). Do you see my point about " ancient times " and mistranslations ?
On your point about the Kuro's curse and Mephiste's . I covered that at the beginning .
But I will addresses The Kuro's curse in more detail :
Can we really say that the " Dark ELVE" curse was cast by the regular elves? Maybe the Kuro's just assumed.....?
I think maybe it was NYX that cursed them. (OR used the other Elves to do it )
So later he could use one of them to Release him.

And the page doesn't give any specifics. It just let's us assume. I mean what bothers me is that the Elves are so petty and vindictive that they curse her whole family (ie. clan ). But why also curse Luca ? And him specifically got the worst of it ? Wouldn't he be the only on to NOT be cursed ? He was related to the other elves . Why punish him the hardest ?
Now for my Von Helson theory.
Pay attention to the Young Vampire ( Young VonHelson). Notice that he took damage to his left eye. (apparently ELVEN weaponry can scar/hurt/kill vampires) Now look at this page of Older Von Helson. Notice his left eye ??!?! IT is gray indicating damage ,plus he is weairing a monocle. ( a vampire that needs glasses?) Come on now.
The only missing link is between Nyx and Von Helson. Or ... there might not be a link at all? Maybe NYX just took advantage of the Kuro clan's misfortune and cursed them. So someday he could use that to his advantage. At least that's my theory.
So if Von Helson is the young vamp in the manga. It means that he is in effect Cordell's father.
P.S. Mama Kuro killed her husband. The husband was the executioner ( look at the axe ) that was going to kill Young Von Helson.
On your point about architecture . It is moot . First of all, like i said " ancient ancestors ". We already know that the current Dark Elves are long lived . And have existed in their current form on Gaia for about 800 years. That goes the same for your point about Saffron, Rosemund , and the Kuros. When i say there is room in the timeline , and ancient times . I am not talking about two thousand years , or a couple of generations. I mean , five hundred thousand to a million years . Maybe even more.
That is why i say those points are moot . How are you going to judge a people and their descendants by architecture ? That is like saying that African Americans , are not descendants of African slaves/people because they now live in Houses and apartments.
Or that Native Americans are not connected to their ancestors because they lived in Tippies and Adobe houses ?
Also ,are you telling me , that now that we have all kinds of DNA tests like" My 23 and me " , and " ancestry.com" you can't fathom that these fictional characters that share an obvious physical attributes can't have a common ancestor ?rolleyes
