So, after playing through a bit of Starry Sky, I've reached the conclusion that it's rediculously well done. ^-^ Seriously, the setting might be considered mundane when compared to other otome games, but the characters are anything but. We have Suzuya, who's very reliable and mature, yet something darker and just a bit twisted lurks beneath.. Think of Tei from Nameless, but without the emo undeserving bit. We also have Kanata, the token delinquent with a (well hidden) heart of gold.. and his route seems like it would smell of Key Aids, seeing as how he seems to have some uncurable disease. Lastly we have Yoh, the antisocial french student who has major trust issues and a big obsessive streak. Watching the characters interact is really entertaining, and their antics never get old. There's tons of dialog in this game, as well as plenty of choices, so you really feel like you're taking part in an anime or manga rather than just watching one play out. There's no supernatural stuff going on so far, so this VN just seems to focus on the drama unfolding between the characters interactions with each other. I'm looking forward to playing all the routes eventually, and even giving After Spring a go as well. I'd love to see the rest of the series translated, I feel that it's really unique and I love that zodiac signs and astrology play a big role in it. The art is beautifully done, and the soundtrack is as well, even the voices seem to fit the characters very well. I'll have more to say about each character probably after beating all the routes.
