The Assassin was on the defensive, evading and blocking. He dodged to the side of one of Mogul's swipes, getting up and ramming his hidden blade into the thick skin of the alien's back. A satisfying cry came out of Mogul's lips, but it only earned the Turquoise Lantern being wrenched around by his arm, hidden blade snapping in the giant's back.
Pain lanced up Skandar's back as he was tossed into a storefront, rolling end over end until he skidding to a stop. He covered his head and chest as well as he could, taking the brunt of the blow to his stomach that sent him through the wall of the store and out into the street beyond. The alien walked over to the figure lying on the street, blood gurgling out of his mouth in a red froth.
Zane skidded around the corner and his eyes narrowed, he thought of shooting a nice beam at the enemy and a bright blue beam shot forth at Mogul. "Get the ******** away from my Mentor." He snarled, his amber gaze glittering beneath the blue mask.
The yellow alien looked up from his opponent, giving the Blue Lantern a bemused stare. "Your mentor? There's more than one?" A peal of laughter escaped the warlord as he dragged the limp figure up by the front of his tunic. Skandar dragged his eyes open, wheezing. He looked at Zane pleadingly, whispering with what little breath remained ing his blood-drenched lungs, "Heal...me..."
Zane growled a bit and saw the pleading gaze in his Mentor's eyes, he gazed at him, and focused, on sending energy to heal Lex, to heal him, make him strong again "..Powers within.." he whispered quietly "Heal Skandar, the Turquoise Lantern, make him strong so we may defeat this enemy..by the hope in my heart and soul, heal him..now" His gaze never left Mogul and Lex.
Mogul rolled his eyes at the incantation and tossed the Assassin aside. Lex gagged as he bounced of the pavement and landed on the sidewalk. He wasn't healed fully, but it was enough to get his legs back under him. Drawing his sword, he drew a ragged breath and let it out in a snarl.
"Icimizde glueclue oldugunu tuem... O, dogrudan yanlis soeyler..." Mogul glanced over as the light from Skandar's ring flickered and grew to a blaze. "...Icimizde bir sarki gece uzaga kovalamak icin olur!" A new hole appeared in the building behind the warlord as he was blasted through and to the street he'd appeared on. Marcus was going to have his a** on a platter for property damage, Lex knew, but right then he was more concerned with killing the giant yellow creature who'd been kicking his a**.
Zane's eyes widened in shock as the alien was shot through the building "holy s**t!" He blurted out, looking at Lex "Nicely done!!" He turned his attenion back to Mogul. "So how do we kill this thing?" He asked, gaze flicking back to Lex.
Lex looked at Zane and panted, wobbling a little.
"Slowly. And with extreme prejudice." He made his way through the destroyed shop and looked at the alien that was rising to his feet, spiked brass knuckles forming over his fists.
"Alright." Zane followed Lex and sighed a bit "Dude you can barely walk, need more power?" he asked in concern.
"That would be great, but save it. What we need is manpower. Call Kyle." Lex ducked quickly as Mongul threw a punch at him that cracked the sidewalk, flipping backward onto the concrete awning of an office building and hurrying up to the roof.
"********.." he looked at his Ring "YO! I need Kyle." He ordered...wondering if that would even WORK "We got a bogie here and he's strong as hell." He scowled at the yellow alien "Damn he's ugly."
"What KIND of bogie?" Kyle's voice snapped from the ring, the Green Lantern running to the nearest alleyway and suiting up. "And who's we? Who the hell is this?"
Atop the building, Lex ducked another punch, driving the constructed spikes deep into Mongul's side. The alien grasped him by the back of the head and slammed him into the ground, dragging him to the edge of the roof. The small Lantern let out of a scream of pain as the giant fist tightened around his head.
"Zane Jerrickson, Blue ********!!! Lex is in danger, and there's this damn ugly yellow alien kicking his a** GET DOWN HERE!" His eyes narrowed.
A green streak shot by Zane's head and slammed into Mogul, knocking the alien into the wall of the nearby office building as Kyle knelt down, pulling Lex up to a sit.
"Oye, amigo, hablame." The Green Lantern lifted his friend's head and shook him. "Contestame, pendejo."
"Mi cara duele, cabron. No puedo contestar," Lex groaned, the skin on one side of his face and nose scraped raw and bloody. He opened an eye and looked at the man's face above his. "Ky..."
"Si?"
"Mira!" Lex shoved him aside, rolling the opposite way as Mogul's fists slammed into where the two of them had been, the Assassin dropping off the edge of the roof, barely managing to construct a pair of wings to use to glide to a heap on the ground.
Zane felt useless, utterly and completely useless, he rushed over to Lex, and sat him up, leaning him against the nearest wall. He stepped away and glowered up at the alien, he shot an energy beam up at Mogul, his eyes hard. He wasn’t going to let this jackass get away after harming Lex...or threatening his planet.
Mogul slid back as the blue energy beam hit him, tossed into the air as a second and third joined it. Kyle landed beside the others as Lex began to totter again, steadying the Assassin with an arm around his waist.
"I think we got him," he said slowly, only to lose all color as a slab of concrete was tossed down at them. "SCATTER!" The three flung each other apart, the warlord crashing down onto the slab, shattering it into pieces. Kyle put up a shield quickly as Lex threw himself against the stones, catching them in a bundle and spinning them around, tossing them back at Mogul. The alien sniffed and shattered them with several quick punches.
“..Damn he’s strong!” Zane copied Kyle, putting a shield up and he gritted his teeth “Now what.” he growled “We have to figure out how to end this..”
"Benji," Lex rasped to his ring, "we're gonna need Bilbo and Dex here. And Charlie." He looked toward Zane and Kyle. "We hold him off until help arrives." He raised his ring again. "Can you get Superman too?"
"Superman? You're placing your hopes in him?" Mogul snorted and tore up a chunk of asphalt, tossing it at the Turquoise Lantern. Twin blades sheared through the rock and metal, one of light and the other metal reinforced with a similar construct. Kyle knew he wasn't imagining it when he took a second look; Lex was bluer in color than before.
"Yeah. As a matter of fact, I am."
Zane's eyes narrowed and he sidled a bit more beside Lex "Should we try a double energy beam at this jerk?" He whispered to Lex. "Might knock him down for a few moments." His gaze locked on the Alien.
"La'a. Boost Kyle's power." Mogul cracked his knuckles and moved toward them. "AHORA, HERMANO." Kyle lifted his hand, Lex pouring the energy of his ring into Kyle's. The green aura around the Lantern grew brighter, his eyes burning green as well.
"..Holy s**t.." Zane's eyes were wide and he helped out, doing the same as Lex was,boosting Kyle's power. he couldn't believe the power that came from his ring of all things "These things are epic." He grinned.
Kyle released the blast in the shape of a missile. Lex half expected a mushroom cloud to form when the wave of power struck Mogul. It sure took out the building's roof, no doubt about that, as the alien went flying through the air. Looking at the both of them, Lex managed to drag enough of his reserve power to the fore, floating up into the air to check that the creature was well and truly history.
Peering down at the rubble, he gave a satisfied nod to himself as he turned to return to the others. A sickening crunch was heard in his ears as something hit him in the back, driving him into the ground. He tasted blood. Damn it... A hand grasped his hood, dragging him up to his knees. The next moment arms were around him, a roaring, yellow and gray-green blur knocking Mogul a good hundred yards to his right. Arkillo roared again, snarling some threat or other as he went on the attack again.
"Hello, Skandar." Lex focused his eyes and found himself gazing up as his father. "Brother Charlie sent us a message for assistance." Lex looked toward Arkillo and Mogul where they had locked hands, struggling to gain control over each other. "Her sey iyi olacak. Dinlenme, oglum." Lex nodded and closed his eyes.
Zane was shocked, truly shocked, he had no idea what to do "..Good thing I got here on time" He looked uncomfortable though, uncertain as to what he should do, he looked at Kyle "Thanks for getting here quickly." He said "Sorry about yelling at you." He looked a bit sheepish. "I was panicked."
Kyle shrugged and flew quickly over to where Arkillo was bashing Mongul's head into the concrete, Walker working on healing Skandar's wounds. Tossing the other alien off, the warlord disappeared down another boomtube.
"Coward!" roared the crocodilian alien before turning back to the other Lanterns. Walker brushed the blood-matted hair back from his son's face.
Zane swept his hands through his hair and ran over to Lex and Walker, he blinked "Saint Walker." inclining his head respectfully he looked at the others that had come to help them "Um..thanks guys"
Walker nodded to him absently with a "Brother Zane," lifting the still weak former Tribesman into his arms. Kyle flinched as Arkillo reached out one of the giant hands he'd been using to maim Mongul, but the reptilian being simply settled a clawed finger against the little human's brow, rubbing gingerly, a rumbling growl in his throat.
"Well, we can always just check up on him. And it's not that far to walk." He took Zane's hand and started down toward the Tazim house. On entering the foyer, though, they were met by "SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEC SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" A blue and black blur landed on top of them both, a sonic canon pointed in their faces.
"GAH!!!!" Zane flailed a bit "WHOA! Easy!!! I'm here to check on Lex!!!"
The being they now saw was clad in blue and black armor, his eyes gold, the sclera slightly blue as well, bug wings spread from his back.
"Khaji-Da!" Jaime snapped from the top of the stairs as Jameel growled, "Khalid!" The alien insect rose slowly to his feet, the armor slipping away until all that remained was a young man that looked oddly like a mixture of the Mexican youth standing beside Jameel, Jameel himself, and Kase. He had the same height as Jameel, Kase's build, and a mix of facial structures, along with Jaime's goatee and brown eyes. Snarling lightly, Khaji-Da, or Khalid, as his created body was called, turned and headed up the stairs to Lex's room, the bug detaching from the shadow form once there to crawl into the Sparrow's arms, settling against his chest.
Zane took a deep breath and let it out "Talk about being scared out of your wits.." he shook his head and looked at Jameel and Kase "How is he?" he asked softly to the pair.
Kase shook his head and sighed, "Stable. Tired. Very tired. I'm surprised his spine didn't snap with the pounding his back too." The Native man had lines showing around his eyes and mouth, on his brow. Jameel's face seemed similarly etched with wear. "Khaji, no more screec scree," he called into the room.
"Screec scree will commense if anamolies pose a threat."
"I'm glad he's stable at least." he bit his lower lip. "I'm just happy we got out of there still alive, that yellow alien was tough as hell, we had to power up Kyle just to get an advantage." He shook his head, running a hand through his hair. "Is there anything I can do to help at all?"
"Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee," Khaji droned from the room. Kase rolled his eyes at the noise as Jameel chuckled.
