RP for Robin
The two flew through the black vacuuum of space, lit by suns and surrounded by other planets and stars studding the grand omnipresent sea of darkness. Another planet rose before them, what Lex had dubbed Odym II for lack of knowledge of its proper name. Shifting his shoulders, he flew them down into the atmosphere, working his shoulders again as his lungs began to tighten, the ring aiding in his
body's adjustment to the new atmosphere and its strange gaseous mixtures of air.

Zane shivered a little bit, a bit freaked out by this whole travelling. He was clinging tightly to Lex as they entered the atmosphere. "That was interesting." He said quietly.

Lex didn't respond to the statement, wishing only that the clingy bugger would stop clinging at all. He shifted, picking up Zane by the scruff and dropping him on his a** as they touched down on the ground before a large building with high towers and bright, domed cupolas. Lex looked ahead toward a tall, white barked, many limbed tree with blue-green leaves. Beneath it sat a humanoid being, his
build male, his head wormlike and lined, eyes like pieces of obsidian shut at the moment. Smiling, feeling suddenly elated for a reason he couldn't name, he moved forward, calling, "Salaam alaykum, Baba!" The alien opened his eyes, sitting up from where he'd leaned against the tree. A grin broke across his face as he stood and walked to the human, wrapping the smaller being in his arms.

Landing on his butt, he quickly stood back up and brushed himself off, taking the scenery in. He glanced over at Lex and the alien, holding back from going too close. He calmed his nerves, a bit freaked out by the fact he had just travelled halfway across the universe. He shook himself out, standing there quietly.

The two held their embrace for a few moments longer, the Sparrow nuzzling against the Blue Lantern's chest.
"I missed you."
"You as well." A three-fingered hand stroked through his hair.

He played with his ring, glancing at the dimly blue glow of it "Wonder how they transform into Blue Lanterns." He voiced thoughtfully.

Saint Walker looked over toward the newcomer then as Lex took him by the hand and led him to Zane.
"Baba, this is my new student, or the one whom I hope you'll allow me to teach. His name is Zane..." He looked at Zane and waited for him to inform him of the rest of his name.

"I am Zane Harold Jerrickson, son of Liam and Maria Jerrickson, son of James and Hanna, descended from Kelvin James Jerrickson, it is a pleasure to meet you." Zane bowed deeply to Saint Walker.

"Erm..." Walker mumbled as Lex facepalmed. The alien cocked his head. The young Turk shook his head and gave him a weary look, all the assurance Walker needed that he would explain this absurdly long list of names at a later time. Walker turned toward the young man and dippd his head, saying, "Be greeted, Brother Zane. I am Saint Bro'Dee Walker of the Blue Lantern Corps. And I'm sure Skandar has introduced himself to you by now." Lex couldn't help a grin behind his fingers as he lowered his hand.

Zane blushed a bit "Sorry, I thought it was proper protocol to introduce my family and stuff...Lex and them do it all the time so I thought I'd give it a try." He admitted. "So..I'm here to learn...and I promise you, yo will have no problems teaching me what you wish for me to know."

"If you have hope in your heart, I'm certain you're already there, Brother," said Walker, smiling and nodding to Zane. Lex looked up at Walker and asked softly, "Can we get started then? I'm a little excited for it after the long trip. Stretch my legs and all."
"Of course." Walker reached over and pressed a hand to the back of his neck, leaning their foreheads together for a moment. "I'll go find Brother Warth and Sister Sercy so they can be introduced to the newest member tonight. And we can catch up then." The other smiled and nodded again as the tall alien flew off.

Zane beamed happily,"Don't worry, there is." He replied light-heartedly and smiled at Lex. "I can't wait, this is exciting!"

"Don't set the bar too high that will can't carry you to your hopes," Lex murmured softly, slipping out of his shoes and kicking them to the side. He tested the turf with his feet before taking a loose stance. Reaching up to his head, he lowered his father's headband down over his eyes and tightened it into a blindfold. "C'mon. Let's go."

"Why a blindfold?" Zane questioned, rather curious. He pulled his shoes off and stretched, loosening his muscles a little bit before he looked Lex over.

"My husband trained me to fight in the dark, to fight without use of my eyes." Lex looked toward his voice. "I don't need my eyes to fight you. Let's go. Come at me, bro."

Zane looked a little skeptical but shrugged, going on his toes to lessen the force of his footfalls. He hoped it worked as he sped towards Lex, holding back only slightly as he went for his left side with a punch.

Lex twisted away from his punch, dropping low and sweeping his legs from under him before hopping back onto his feet and resuming his stance.

Zane quickly returned to his feet, bouncing on his toes a bit "nicely done." He remarked, then went for another swing, he did suck at fighting, as he had no real prior knowledge of it.
(He seriously does not know how to fight xD)
(Back in a bit Lex, I have to help with supper)

((Okay.))

(Go ahead and post, I'll reply when I return)

Lex blocked his arm and kicked him in the chest. "Fight as if I'm going to kill you."

"if I do that my beserker side'll take over." Zane responded.

"Then you're not a warrior but a fool," Lex stated.

"Lex, last time I let that guard down I got my a** handed to me by Stephen." Zane pointed out "But, fine, whatever." He leaped back and closed his eyes, letting that side of himself take over. Amber gaze snapped open, they were clear, hard and completely unreadable. A sadistic smile appeared on his face. Treading lightly as he rushed at Lex, he pulled his left arm back for a punch towards the
other male's ribcage.
(OK NOW I'll be back in a bit.)

((Okay.))

(back for now)
(Lex)

((Yay.))
Sorry, was getting a drink.

(kks)

Lex leaped over his head and rolled up onto his feet again, turning back to face him. The young man kept silent and still. Then, softly, a song came from his lips, a chant of sorts, "Mitakuye oyasin lel ohinni e yelo..." He shifted, beginning to circle Zane. "Mitakuye oyasin lel ohinni e yelo... Mitakuye oyasin lel ohinni e yelo..."

Stifling the growl that came from his throat, he breathed through his nose, calming himself, gaze softening just slightly. "What's with the chant??" He questioned
Lex M. says
Lex stilled, body moving lower, assuming a stance he'd seen an old friend use once, had seen, on a single occassion, his father-in-law take up. "Mitakuye oyasin lel ohinni e yelo..."

So he wasn't going to be answered. He watched Lex carefully, judging his next move, eyes narrowing.

The Sparrow leaped into the tree's branches, landing one and then leaping forward, coming down at Zane in an Assassin's kill strike.

Zane, having been able to calculate the move, did a backflip out of the way, then darted forewards and skidded on the ground, trying to kick Lex's legs from underneat himg.
*Him

Lex twisted onto his hands, swinging his legs forward and kicking at Zane's head with both legs, interchanging their movements, striking at his torso and head.

Zane's eyes widened and reacted instinctively, grabbing Lex's legs as they kicked at him.

Lex shifted his weight, letting Zane take it by holding his legs and giving him several punches in the gut in quick succession.

Grunting a bit, he adjusted himself so he wouldn't fall over, then smirked and tossed Lex away from him.

Lex slid across the grass, digging his nails into the ground until he was able to drag himself to a stop. He stood, lifting his hands and clenching his fists. His fingers were bloodied, his nails ripped. They stung. Wiping the dirt away on his pants and shirt, he let out a long breath and took up the tune again. "Soon I will be here no more...you'll hear my tale through my blood...
"Through my people...and the eagle's cry...the bear within will never lay to rest... Wandering on Horizon Road...following the Trail of Tears..."

Zane stretched a bit, cracking his neck, he felt alive, truly alive for the first time in a long time, but he waited for Lex to make a move.
Lex M. says
((He's not gonna move.))

(Geh..ok)
"...Lex." Zane called "You gonna retaliate or not?"

In response, Lex closed his eyes, though this was unseen beneath the gold-orange-turquoise-striped bandana, and pressed his palms together before his chest, waiting, almost as if in prayer, his body relaxing as he stood ramrod straight.

Zane rose an eyebrow and strode up to him, eyes narrowed a bit. Should he attack? he wasn't sure of Lex and his movements yet, so he didn't know what the shorter male was doing. Circling him slowly he kept tense, just in case. (back in a bit, supper prep time has come and I gotta help)

((Okay))
Lex remained still.

(back!)

((Yay!))

(don't have your post if you posted so)

Post:
Lex remained still.

Zane sighed a little, continuing to circle Lex, and decided to test his reflexes, so he poked him in the ribs.

Lex held his position, no muscles twitching, frozen in place.

"...What the hell.." Zane muttered and poked him again "Lex????"

The man was still a statue.

(WHAT is he doing if you don't mind me asking)
Frustration wound itself throughout Zane but he forced himself to keep calm, this was annoying, what happened to the sparring? A scowl made it's way onto Zane's face and he shook his head "Well that excercise didn't last long." He muttered

((Lex's seeing how he reacts to a different tactic. He's now Shaolin Walkering things up. XD))

(aaah)

The blindfolded man remained as he had been since he took the position, breathing steady almost to stillness; he could have been asleep on his feet for all his appearance suggested. The Sparrow's ears were pricked attentively, every muscle forced to stillness even as his nerves jumped with the poking he was receiving.

"Okay, I'm officially bored." Zane admitted and went a few feet away and sat down. He didn't really know what else to do.

"NOVICE!" the roar burst from his lips as Lex lunged forward, his hidden blade unsheathed, every inch the Mentor he was said to be. His feet planted onto Zane's stomach as he bore him to the ground, the blade tip pressed to the hollow of his throat.

"GH! HOLY s**t DUDE HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!" Zane stared up at Lex in a mixture of shock and awe.

"If I was out to kill you, now you would be dead. Never underestimate the opponent. I hid my intentions in plain sight, as Assassins are commanded by the second tenet of our Creed to hide in plain sight and be little more than a blade in the crowd. Get up and fight me blade to blade now. And this time, fight as if I have slaughtered your family and mean to take your life." He strode to his previous position on the field and called, "I am the man who haunts your nightmares. Come and deal with me on your own."

Zane nodded then shook his head "One problem with the fight with the blades thing. I don't have a sword.I've never USED a sword." He gave a sheepish grin "I've never had to fight except fist to fist, I don't have sword training"

Lex pointed to Zane's ring. "Think of the sword and one will form."

"What? Seriously?" He looked rather incredulous but closed his eyes, focusing, trying to figure out what kind of sword he could use easily. He had no idea, so the first thing that sprang to his mind was a Katana.

Lex watched as a sword of blue light was constructed in Zane's hand.

"Now, hurry up and get over here, or I'll kill someone else you hold dear." He stroked the thin stubble at his chin with his fingers. "Maybe that boyfriend of yours, huh? I think I can do that pretty nicely. Maybe I'll cut him up into pieces and use his skull as a chamber pot."

Zane gripped the sword and his eyes flashed open, at the threat to Zach's life a growl rose to his throat and he snarled "You won't touch Zach..." He charged at Lex, gaze narrowed in anger, his eyes changing to a sunlight gold. He was outright pissed.

The Turk waited until his opponent was within striking distance, less than an arm's length away. His fingers toyed with the hilt of his father's sword, slung at his hip. The next moment it sprang into his hand, slicing toward the outside of Zane's swordarm.

Zane dodged nimbly to the side, and slashed downwards at Lex's hand.

The Assassin shifted his arm, the blade glancing off the bracer on his forearm as he twisted around and kicked Zane hard in the knee, driving the kilij toward the middle of his chest where he knew the diaphragm heaved. He wasn't pulling punches with this novice. He meant it when he said he should fight as if he was out to kill him.

Zane snarled and winced as he was nicked as he drew away "Goddamnit..isn't there an easier way to learn rather than this?" He demanded, already sweating.

"Stab through the diaphragm. Fatal. You're dead. Do you want me to swat your corpse aside while I decapitate Zach?" was the response he received, the young man before him looking much older than before.

"******** hell man.." Zane panted heavily and shook his head "No, I don't but I'm also not used to all of this!" He snapped "I'm not trained like you man..I haven't been trained all my life to fight. I was a normal kid before all this happened to me, no I'm NOT looking for pity, I'm just trying to figure out what the ******** happened to me that day"
"s**t's happened so fast it's made my head spin"

"I have not been training my whole life. I was eighteen when I became an Assassin. I was ignorant of my heritage. Then I was thrust into the middle of the war. You've unwittingly signed up to become an intergalactic cop by putting on that ring, so you won't get any slack from me. The training is supposed to be hard. You will become stronger through it. That's the point. Now are you going to stop
me, or should I ******** your precious magician before I stab him through the heart? Maybe I should pull a rabbit from his hat clear out his a**, hmm?" The Assassin's eyes narrowed dangerously as he said this.

Deep breaths, he had to look past the rage and anger. "Look past the anger, past the rage, see the target." He muttered to himself over and over, focusing his energy and feeling it flow through his veins. "Don't let the rage cloud the target" Momentarily he closed those angry sunlight gold eyes, and when he opened them they were back to amber, but there was a hard light in them. "..he's trained,
I'm not, so I need to out maneuver and outwit him." He thought to himself, focusing on the target, ignoring everything else, trying to find some sort of weak spot, but not letting his gaze wander.

"Ich bin aus Staub und Lehm gemacht, aus Feuer und das Licht!" Skandar called suddenly, spinning his sword absently in his hand. "Ein Tier, das trauert und das lacht, ich greife nach den Sternen!" He threw open his arms. "Ein Ding, das Gute und Boese kennt, das barfuss durch die Wueste rennt! Ich bin Gebieter und Lakai! Weisst du wer ich bin?!"

(translation, please_

((I am of dust and earth made, of fire and light! An animal that sorrows and laughs, I look to the stars! A thing that knows good and evil, that's walked through the desert! I am master and lackey! Do you know who I am?!))

"I don't understand German." Zane gave a wry smile "Try speaking english would you?" Still looking for that weak spot.

((He can't find a weak spot when Lex just HELD OPEN HIS ARMS FOR HIM?!))

(-facepalm-)
(Missed that part in the post)
Zane saw the move Lex had made, and snapped to action, gripping the sword more firmly, he shot forewards in a blur, and slashed the blade along his right side.

"Weisst du wer ich bin?" The words were hissed as the blade was stopped by Lex's gloved hand, blood running from his palm and fingers. The kilij was pressed against Zane's right side. "Stab to the right abdominal cavity. Puncture the liver. Death. Do you have nine lives, Novice?"

"********." He growled "..I have to be more aware of your body language"

Lex twisted the kilij around so the hilt faced Zane and slammed it into his chin, shoving him backwards. He righted the blade and moved in, ramming his knee into the same place as he'd done with the sword.

Zane stumbled backwards, wincing as his neck gave an ominous crack, then fell over as he was kneed in the side. "...********"

((No, he kneed him in the jaw.))

(-switches it-)
"...I think you cracked my jaw..." Zane mumbled, rubbing it slightly, wincing.

"I did not break your jaw, you imbecile. If I did, you wouldn't be able to talk," the medic snapped. "I can remedy that, if you so wish, but if you don't, I suggest after we finish training that you let me look in your mouth in case you've broken some teeth. I know a good space-dentist who sometimes comes to this Sector."

""To be honest I'm done for the day.." Zane winced as he stood. His body was ringing. "But if you wanna keep going we can"

((Ringing?))

(Vibrating..fingers took over)

...((You mean shaking, right?))

(same thing)

((No, not the same thing.))

(be back soon_)

((Okay))
