it was a BLAST! For anyone who may not be familiar with it, a senior lockdown is pretty much a sleepover at school for the entire senior class. Since I'm a high school graduate, the only reason I knew about it was because my mom is a teacher at the school. She told me about it and the only thing I could think of was, "Uh... SHUR, Why not?" I was a senior just a few months ago, so they bended the rules for me to be in it too. Instead of just burning time with something to do, I actually had a lot of fun! We danced, sang, watched some movies, played basketball in the gym, even pulled up some chairs, aligned them all in a circle and talked for a good 2 hours about relationships, love, trust, etc. There was even a game called Sardines: When a few people go off and hide and the rest of the group tries to find them. When someone finds one of the select few, the person hides with them; an extreme way of playing hide-and-seek. The game didn't make much sense to me because how does the game end? Does anyone win or lose? I guess it was just an excuse to run through the long hallways in hopes of finding someone. It was pretty fun regardless. The game ended by everyone getting a little tired and bored, so they moved on to something else. biggrin
Just about all of us stayed awake until 6 in the morning!I made some new buddies and a few phone numbers. It wasn't my goal, but I'm glad I accomplished it!
The only possible thing I can remember that might've killed a little of my buzz was this particular guy who was pretty clingy... he seemed lonely and desperate for "some lovin' " or whatever. He said stuff like "making out", "one night stand" (on account of my not being a student there), and "no strings attached". I'm positive he was jealous of the other guys I was chatting with that night. He even had the nerve to get a little touchy with me. I sometimes avoided eye contact because any time my gaze met his, either he seemed uncomfortably insecure, lost in thought or hungry for whatever he was looking at (a lot of the time, me). ._. Poor thing... He's just so awkward and... not ugly, but... um... a baby step below decent, I suppose. He looks like the type of guy who'd look much more attractive during his 40's and 50's. My stepdad was basically like that as a teen, and it took him decades later to physically appeal more to women. Good thing I didn't attend that school; I'd hate to have to avoid him in the hallways. confused This type of situation is yet another thing I HAVEN'T missed about the typical adolescent lifestyle of high school. rolleyes
At any rate... I'm still really glad I went. It was a nice change of pace, and gave me more than enough social encounters that'll satisfy me for a while.
3nodding All and all, I had a great night. 3nodding
