Flexible custom made leather shirt and pants. She wears a band around her face, not really sure why, it just came with the outfit. She wears black boots with extra cushioning in the soles to prevent her feet from hurting. She wears leather holsters for her guns, one which wraps around her waist and another which wraps around her right thigh.

Before Anise became Aphorism, she lived in a small apartment with her father, a well known detective who worked in both public and private crime scenes. What her father was best known was his information gathering abilities. the truth was her mother and father never married, in fact her father had never seen Anise until she was forced to move in with him when her mother moved out of the country without her. Anise already had a bad reputation as a child delinquent before she moved in with her father, and being abandoned by her mother and forced to live with a man she barely knew didn't improve her attitude. Her behavior often gave reason to ruin her father's name, but he never showed any hatred or regret for taking her in. When Anise was arrested for disrupting the peace her father went in to bale her out. He watched Anise talk her way out of being put in a cell and immediately noticed Anise's potential.
For several years as Anise grew out of her rebellious stage her father taught her everything he knew about being a detective. His charm worked and Anise left for college to get a degree in criminal justice and psychology. But when she returned home to witness a horrendous murder she snapped. When the police failed to find the culprit she set out to find the killer herself. Almost two weeks later a metal briefcase was mailed to the police station containing evidence, a video of the killer, bruised and battered, admitting his crime, and a letter explaining the evidence and the crime, the only name give at the bottom was Aphorism. The killer was later brought in, questioned, and was arrested for his crime.

Sadistic, violent, and a bit off her rocker, Aphorism is often questioned as to whether she is a 'good guy' or a bad guy' the truth is she isn't really either. She takes neutral grounds in order to keep information given to her from being distorted by her own opinions. Many accuse her of having a questionable sense of justice and she would most likely agree. Her cunning and resourcefulness allows her to interrogate almost anywhere and she does whatever she has to, to get the information she needs. Often her methods are mentally and physically torturous, though she can be sweet if that is what is needed. Ever since whenever a person was in need of information, they turned to Aphorism.

Aphorism is a previous smoking addict, she's on her last stages of to quitting. She now only smokes when she's really stressed.
