The sterile room with its white walls and white upholstry and blue carpet was fil;led with a humming sound, coming from the computer. The clank of keys echoed now and then as the solitary woman pounded away at the keys. No doubt she was writing to a friend as the clanks were short and had long waits between them. A short raspy laugh scraped across her lips as she wrote LOL to a friend over chat. She paused and her hands hovered indistintly over the keyboard as a jingle erupted from her pocket. She blinked and looked at the time. It was 3:30, the jingle was her wake up call, she needed to be to work in twenty minutes. With a heavy sigh she cursed herself for staying up so late and went to get in the shower. the girl wasn't particularly... well... anything. She was average hieght average looks. She was just, average average. She stripped herself of the wrinkled sticky yesterday clothes and brushed out her hair. She slid into the shower and swallowed in her tiredness. As the steaming rivets slid over her naked form she thought about how much she didn't want to go to her average job and come home to her average boyfriend and average life.
She climbed from her quick shower ad flew about her room getting dressed in her average clothes. She slipped her name pin onto her pocket and adjusted it. In the mirror she read the backwards lettering. annekcM. M'I !IH She groaned and walked out to her car. As she drove she thought about how very average she was. She ahd an average shoulder length hair cut, and average silver car, and average house, and an average paying job. She thought about how averagely normal her parents were and how painfully average her grades were and finally slammed on the breaks of her car.
Mckenna no longer wanted this average life full of average normal boring routines and people. She wanted excitement, she wanted... to be unpredictable. For the next few days Mckenna found herself stopping in the middle of some Idle task and thinking 'Whats the point of doing this?'. Or 'I think I'll do this instead.'
Finally the week past into the weekend, she got her pay on saturaday and cashed it.
