During the first 10 weeks make sure to get in lots of lessons. If you answered correctly during your first idol encounter then you should have a couple memories if you need to use them. Doing all these lessons can seriously hurt your idol's tension so make sure you can bring it up in time for auditions especially in low character idols. Don't let your vocal stat suffer if you can't speak Japanese. Try your debut song as "9:02 pm", "Go My Way" or other songs that start with English.

Must be Image level 9 by week 42 to participate in seasonals
Do more lessons to get your idol in top shape so she can win auditions easier. Having a higher image level will make it so you won't have to waste time doing promotions. Doing the base games Vocal, Dance, and Performance lessons are harder but will pay off. Don't let your stats suffer even if they're unpopular. If you get nuked during an audition you won't be able to recover.
Weeks left 32-Must Rank up Rank D Change Song
You've already gotten the hang and feel of your idol's tension and auditioning. You can mostly depend on fanmail now. If your image level is high enough you should be able to easily reach rank C.
Weeks left 22- Must Rank up Rank C Change song
If you get up to rank C by depending on memories you'll never have enough time to rank up all the way to rank A. The best way to secure rank A is to actually skip the rank B rank up and beat all 3 dojos instead. Once you secure the proper amount of fans you will skip Rank B. If you have troubles beating the dojos try nuking your opponents and then using a memory boost.
Weeks left 12- Must Rank up Rank B OR have beaten all 3 dojos. Change Song
This rank is optional. The alpha sign next to the rank up means you need to beat all three dojos to advance to rank A. You can skip this rank if you achieve the proper amount of fans and do all 3 dojos.
Weeks left 2- Must Rank up Rank A
Once you rank up to Rank A you should start preparing for your final concert. Try and decide what outfits will the most image level to your idol, pick her favorite song (but not Haruka's), and good luck on the final song.
It's easier if you appeal toward the end.
