the morning air was still damp from the heavy rain that had come down that night. It was chilly and fog swirled around the silent houses. A woman stood at her balcony, watching the pale sun rise, the light choked out by fog. she noticed a person wandering the streets, alone at an early hour. It was too small to be an adult, or even a teenager. she picked up her binoculars and looked down at her. It was a small girl, probably 9 or 10 at the oldest. Silently, the woman cocked her head to the side in a deep confused way. A tickle in her nose brought her attention as she sneezed. The sound was quite loud and broke the silence of the morning.Hearing this sound the child turned around slowly. the woman couldn't help but recoil at her appearance. She looked like she was crying, and she had blood on her hands. the woman bit her lip, her imagination running away with her. Hand the child awoken to fin her parents brutally murdered, or was it her blood? With a slight shake the girl suddenly collapsed. thus, fearing the worse the woman pulled on a robe and ran quickly out to where the girl lay. "Little girl, are you alright?!" She exclaimed, kneeling next to her. She slid an arm under her head. From here she couldn't see any wounds... and she recognized her as Sally Reins, from down the block. Her parents were filthy rich. "Sally, honey, come on, wake up sweaty." She said, gently patting her face. The girl remained limp, but breathing. The woman slid another arm under her legs and lifted her up easily. The girl didn't weigh 90 pounds dripping wet with stones in her pockets. Slowly the woman made her way through the silent sleeping neighbor hood to Sallies house She found the door to their half mansion hanging open and bloody foot prints running away. Sally groaned and opened her eyes. "Where- where am I?" She said in a small voice. "Your almost home sweaty, its Jannie, form down the block." "NO! DON"T TAKE ME HOME! Theres a monster in their! He killed my mommy and he's pretending to be my daddy!" She cried, wiggling in Jannies arms, obviously upset. "Alright honey, we'll go back to my house. Are you hurt?" "The monster bit me, but other then that I'm alright." she whimpered softly. "But I'm worried about daddy, take me back before the monster comes out!" She exclaimed, covering eyes with a sob. Quickly Jannie turned around. She had known Salles parents for five years. Mr Reins had always been very kind to her and struck her as extremely nice and calm. He just wasn't the type that could kill... Jannie was very quick to open her door and shut and lock it behind her. "Alright sweat heart, where did the monster bite you?" She asked softly, the silence of her home greeted her. Sally had fallen asleep again. Sally frowned and placed her down on the couch. The girl was wearing a soft nightgown. At one time it had been white with a little pink flower pattern dotting it. The nightgown was now a dark red color over the bottom half and the sleaves. Jannie lifted up the skirt quickly glancing under it for bite marks and hurt spots. /Not seeing any Jannie sighed with relief. She worked down, looking for bite marks on her legs and feet. It was too blood to tell. She went into the bathroom and when she came back out Sally was sitting on the couch, abck turned to her. "Hey Sally, honey I need to know where he bit you... Sally..." She tapped her shoulder. Sally flinched, but didn't answer her. "Honey!" She called, causing Sally to turn. "Where'd he bite you?" "He didn't actually bite me, he just tried to..." "whose blood is this?" "Mommies..." She answered. "What happened?" "I woke up because I had a bad dream, it was still dark out... and I walked to where mommy and daddy sleep and there was a monster standing in the bathroom, and mommy was..." Then little girl chocked and began to sob loudly. "Mommy was crawling away towards my bedroom. Her tummy was torn up and she was all bloody!" She began to cry harshly. "And she grabbed my arm and told me to run. I slipped in the blood while I was running and... then he saw me and chased me he grabbed my arms and tried to bite me. I got away because mommy threw a lamp at him before she died and... while I was running he grabbed my leg but I got away." She said nibbling on her lip. "Alright, just stay here, I'll be right back." She said going to her back room she picked up the phone and dialed 911. "911 operator, what is you emergency?" "Murder, I think. My neighbor Sally Reins was wandering around this morning covered in blood, she said her father killed her mother..." "What is the adress?" "1411 n buckling street." "and the girl, is she with you?" "Yes. I'm at 1415 North Buckling street with her." "We'll send a bus and police, is she hurt?" "No... she said it was all her mothers blood." "Alright please lock you doors and windows and remain calm. the police and doctors are on their way." "Alright." Jannie hung up and went out to where Sally sat "Hey honey, the police and ambulance are on their way, it'll be thirty minutes then we'll be safe, ok?" She said, touching her shoulder. "thank you Ms. Jannie... you've been so nice to me..." "Will you help me lock the doors and windows?" She asked, smiling. "Of coarse." She muttered absently. Jannie went to the front door and dead bolted it before going to the window and drawing the curtains. quietly they both went through and locked all twenty windows and both doors before sitting down again on the couch. "Can I use your bathroom?" she asked, softly, looking up at Jannie. "Of coarse you can!" She exclaimed. "Second door on the right." She said. "Thank you." She said going up the stairs to the bathroom. quietly Jannie turned on the 5 a.m. news and sighed. "Authorities say that since 2 a.m. this morning there has been an outbreak of madness in our city. this information came in about an hour ago. The killers are eating the flesh of the people they murdered. Authorities are telling us to lock your doors and windows. And that if a loved one has these following symptoms to lock them in a room with no windows. The symptoms are: Raspy breathing, blood short eyes, stuffy nose, hacking cough, violent mood swings, and an extremely high fever. Doctors say that it'll start looking just like a cold, but be careful because it may not be a cold. The murderous intentions come after about twenty hours of the first symptoms, usually starting with the high fever and stuffy nose."
Quietly Jannie watched the news, eye brows brought together in frustration, and upset. that was when the screams started outside. She peaked out and gasped. Monsters were all over the place, chasing her neighbors all over the foggy street. Jannie backed up and ran into the back room, where Sally was bathing in her bathtub. "whats wrong Jannie?" Sally asked, her voice seemed different. "Was your father sick, did he have a cold?" "yes, he had pneumonia... why?" "Just curious." She answered, half turning. "Theres monsters all ov-" A loud crashed interrupted her, and caused her to jump. The door fell in and a hoard of insane looking creatures came into the room... Their screams could be heard through out the entire house...
Chapter 1... OutBreak...
The virus was quick to take over cities. All over the east coast was quarantined. It didn't stop the outbreak from destroying all of North America. Then because of a stray cat that got onto a plane in South America Asia, Africa and Europe were next to break down. Quickly the rest of the world bent to the viruses will, except Australia. Few survivors were left. And that number dwindled everyday because of the zombie population.
