I swear to you this is a chapter. Lol. Story in a journal. HAHA!!
Her long black hair draped over her face as the wind slashed through the trees. Her blood red eyes were watching her prey run through them, trying to escape her bloody hands. He ran her tongue over her blood soaked lips and let her fangs poke out from her mouth. Her nails were nearly three inches long, yet sharp and strong. Blood splattered her ragged robe and covered her hands. She only wanted one thing: blood. It was what she wanted. Only she didn't want to take time and suck someone dry. She wanted to rip people apart and watch it spray out, let it soaked her to the bone in the red liquid.
Her servant was yards behind her, panting and holding a hand to his neck. Her other servants had been cut down just like the dead villagers on the ground. They had tried to stop her, so she got rid of them. He was the last one. His neck was bleeding heavily from where she rip a chunk of his flesh out. He panted and tried to get to his feet.
"Umiko! Please, stop!" He cried. She heard a child scream in the forest. She grinned happily and let out a snarl, lunging into the branches. She ignored the stinging pain on her face as the branches and twigs broke on her skin. She found her first victims. A mother and a child. She grinned happily and raised her claw into the air. Her hair was whipping around her head, her eyes wide with insanity and thirst. She wanted to see their blood. The cries of the baby and screams of the mother mixed together as she brought her hand do-
She fell heavily onto the floor, facedown. With a groan, she pushed herself upright and stumbled to her feet. She rubbed her head. Her skin was coated with sweat. Another hot night in the Saitama country side. She gazed out the window, the main city just a few miles away from her own home. With a sigh and glanced at the clock, thinking she woke up late, again. Instead, she woke up two hours early. With a groan and stalked out of her room and went downstairs. Her room mate was wide awake, buried in a book.
"You're up early," She called. Umiko groaned and sat down next to her.
"Ech... you don't look good. Bad dream?"
"Horrible..." He muttered. Her shoulder length, messy black hair was set in a tuff on her head. Some dark eye liner remained on her lids from last night.
"You should take a shower."
"I took one last night.''
"Well, you're covered in sweat. Take one, smelly." She snapped. Umiko shot a death glare.
"N. O. I'll just head to campus early..."
"Wha?? You? Early to college! That's amazing!" She said. Umiko slapped her upside the head and headed to the kitchen. She opened the refriderator and pulled out a bottle of water. In a few seconds, it was on her head.
"Sachiko! You have something to clean up in here!" She yelled as she headed upstairs to change. Sachiko lazily walked into the kitchen and slipped on the puddle of water.
"What the hell is this!? Is this your version of a shower?! Ew!" Umiko smirked and headed upstairs. She wiped herself off with a towel and threw on a pair of black vinyl pants, black flats, a band T-shirt and black armwarmers with black frill on them. She ran a brush through her hair and sprayed some hair spray to make a few curled spikes. She stuffed everything she had related to school into her large backpack and went downstairs. She was greeted with a wet towel thrown to her face.
"Ow! Jerk!"
"You're the jerk!" Sachiko was already prepared to leave. She only had a sling bag with simple things. She straightened her glasses and headed for the door.
"I'm driving this time!" Umiko zipped past her and beat her to the drivers door. Sachiko sighed and climbed into the passenger's seat. ~~~~ They arrived at the University twenty minutes later. Umiko pulled the bikes off from the top of the car and rode with Sachiko across campus to where their lockers were.
"Oh boy... Sachiko, did you hear? We're getting an exchange student today."
"We are? Where's she from?"
"Always a she with you, isn't it?"
"Well it's not always a guy!"
"Too bad, it is. I think he's from... oh crap... I think somewhere in Europe."
"Europe?? How did they learn Japanese so quick?"
"I dunno. They say he can read kanji really fluently too."
"He's probably a Japanese who moved to Europe and then moved back. It happens alot with rich guys." Sachiko grinned. Umiko rolled her eyes and hopped off her bike. She slid it into the bike rack and tied a leather rope around it.
"You should get an actual lock. Soon your bike may get stolen!"
"Oh please! This knot is nearly impossible for the feeble minded!" Umiko said, walking past Sachiko. They entered the hallway and headed for their first period class. The room was nearly empty, except a few people along with a teacher; who was stunned to see Umiko with Sachiko.
"Morning Watani-sensei!" Umiko and Sachiko said together.
"This is a shock, Umiko is up at this time!" Some chuckled.
"I didn't think you'd be here this early, sensei. You usually don't come for another twenty minutes."
"I have to prepare for the exchange student. He'll be arriving shortly, I suppose."
"Oh! What's his name, sensei?" Someone asked.
"Well... I believe it's Yozo. But I'm not to sure. That could be his last name."
"Yozo? Weird name..."
"Not as weird as 'Debuta'." Umiko said bluntly.
"Hey! That's not actually my name!" A chubby guy said from across the room.
"And I'm big boned!!" She laughed.
"I'm kidding!" There was a cough from the doorway. A tall man, around Umiko's age, was standing along with a few papers in hand. He wore a white dress shirt with a black tie along with black slacks and matches dress shoes. His black hair was just below his ear and messy. His eyes were calm and skin pale. Umiko kept his eyes on him.
Why does he seem so fimiliar to me? His eyes met hers. They stared at each other for a few moments.
"Ah! Yozo, I presume?" Watani said, standing up and holding out his hand. Yozo lightly took it and bowed.
"Thank you for accepting me here."
"Oh no, I'm not the principel. But I welcome you to my class." Sachiko elbowed Umiko.
"Huh?"
"I saw you making eyes with him! Are you being disloyal to your honey?"
"Am not! He just seemed fimiliar! That's all!" She snapped. ~~~~ Two p.m. came around. Umiko was headed for the track field. She slid her bike to a stop and hopped over the fence. Her boyfriend, Hajita picked her up and twirled her around in circles.
"There's our star!"
"Ah! Put me down! I'm gonna get sick!" She laughed. He set her down and kissed her cheek.
"I thought you would have chickened out."
"I never back down from a challenge." A few girls from an opposing team were lingering around the track. When they saw her they gathered and waited.
"Well, let's get this show on the road. You know the deal." The team leader said lazily, she wasn't involved with the challenge, just watching it. The girl who challenged Umiko was the shortest. They lined up on the track.
"Hurry up!"
"Shut up! I have to change!" Umiko hid behind a wall and took out her track uniform. She took off her shirt and slid on the top quickly, then did the same with her pants. She laced up her shoes and jogged to her place.
"Ok..." The opposing team leader held up a stop watch.
"First one around the track... yadda... doesn't matter what lane... yadda... ready?" They took their places. The rails were set up around the track.
"Go." The two girls raced from their positions. Umiko paced herself around the first turn. She jumped easily over the rails and kept her breath even. She saw someone watching her in the stands. She narowed her eyes.
Is that... Yozo?
You can run faster than that. She nearly stumbled. Had she heard what she thought she heard?! What that Yozo's voice in her head? She saw the other girl pulling ahead of her. The finish line was near. She shook her head and picked up the pace. The hard part was here. She usually was slow. The rails were so close together that you could barely get any speed between each one. The other girl was already halfway through. Umiko felt something urging her to run as fast as she could. She pulled herself ahead and leapt over the first two in one bound. She leapt over each one with more ease than ever. She lifted her feet over the last peg and ran straight for the finish. She won.
"Wow! You leapt over two of them! Amazing!!" The other came to a stop to catch her breath. Umiko was barely even tired. She was so used to running it was second to breathing. Hajita hugged her and kissed her.
"You're the best, as always."
"Liar." She muttered. He laughed. The opposing bowed and thanked her for the race. Umiko glanced up at the stands, no one was there. ~~~~ She laid on the bed quietly and kept her arm still. The IV was running blood from the bag to her arm. Hajita was sitting next to her, reading a magazine. His thick glasses reflected the light. She drummed her fingers impatiently on her stomach. She glanced at the bag. It was almost empty.
"Hey, I'm gonna go outside for a smoke." Hajita kissed her forehead and walked out. She smiled and watched him leave. She let out a sigh and stared up at the ceiling. The sun was already setting.
"Gez... longer than usual..." She muttered. The door opened.
"Did you forget your lighter again?" She turned her head. Instead of Hajita, Yozo was in the room. He locked the door behind him.
"Uh... hey... What're you doing here?" He sat down next to her and stared at her with calm eyes. Umiko scratched her neck and forced a smile.
"So... where did you live before Japan?"
"England." She nodded.
"Nice place, I heard..." The bag was empty now. Umiko opened her mouth to call a nurse. Yozo quickly, and fluently, unhooked the bag and took out the needle. It was like he had done it a million times before. Umiko straightened up.
"Hey! Why did you do that??"
"You don't need these blood bags..." He whispered. Umiko blinked.
"The hell are you talking about? Yes I do! If I don't get them, I'll die!" He shook his head.
"No..." He pulled out a long knife. Umiko froze.
"Wh... What are you doing with that?" He slid it across his palm and held his bleeding hand out to her.
"What the ********!? Get away from me!" She snapped. He placed the knife on the bed and kept his hand outstretched. She slapped his hand away.
"No!"
"You have to... or else your friends will perish..." He whispered, his eyes pleading. She gasped. Then a loud slam erupted from the hallway.
"What's going on!?" She yelled, standing up. Yozo stood up and faced the door.
"They're here already..." He muttered. He jumped across the bed and grabbed Umiko around the waist, his blood dripping on the floor.
"Hey!!" Hajita flew through the door and slammed down on the bed. He was bleeding and a hole was through his leg.
"Hajita!" She cried. He didn't answer. A hideous creature emerged from the hallway, blood dripping from it's mouth. Wings protruded from it's back, it's skin wrinkly and brown. It's fangs stuck out from it's snout and red eyes burn like small red dots of fire. It let out a screech. Umiko gasped and held her hands to her ears. Yozo held her against his chest and jumped out of the window. He landed cleanly on his feet and ran quickly across the yard. Similar creatures littered the grass, bodies in their huge claws, blood dripping from their mouths. Umiko shrieked at the sight of them. Yozo jumped up into a tree and flew across to a building. He grabbed onto a window stil and flung himself up to the roof. He set Umiko down.
"What the hell are those things?!"
"The creatures that were created by your lost servants."
"What?!"
"When a half vampire drains a human of their blood, they don't die, they become monsters. What you would call zombies."
"What the hell does that have to do with me!?"
"I am your servant. Only a full vampire can create a half vampire. I am your half vampire. A servant of your words." He bowed. Umiko shook her head.
"No way... That's bullcrap!"
"You don't remember... you're the only one who can kill them... you're the only one who knows how..." He whispered. He held out his still bleeding hand.
"You must fight." She scurried away from him.
"Get away from me!" He gently ran a finger down his bleeding palm and stuck it in her mouth. She froze. She didn't reject it, somehow, it tasted so good. She grasped his bleeding hand and licked the wound greedily.
"I knew you'd remember... right when you had my blood... your memories..." Her canines grew longer and sharper.
"Would return..." Her nails grew longer. They were sharp and slim. Nearly the length of her fingers. Her eyes were red. She stared up at Yozo.
"You're... how the hell do I know..." She whispered.
"Let the memories come... Now... fight..." He pulled her to her feet and faced her out to the yard littered with monsters. She was frozen, her eyes wandering the place. Then she felt instinct take over. She rolled her head and cracked her neck. She gently took Yozo's hand.
"Don't let... my friends see..." She whispered. It was her last words of sanity as she let out a scream of hunger. Her hair flew wildly outwards. She jumped off the roof and flew to the ground. She landed on top of a monster and bit its neck roughly, ripping out the flesh and slicing it with her claws. Yozo watched silently.
"Yes... my master..."
