When Two Boys Kissed
Together they laid on top of their bed with the rain tapping against their window.
Two boys madly in love with one another, snuggling under the covers to keep warm.
A scene taken from a fairytale book that my mother used to read me as a child.
A sigh escaping my lips as I smile for the happiness they found in one another.
But I can't help, but feel a tad bit sad for the horror they have to face from the world.
'Cause when two boys kissed, they ended up dead by the next morning.
Murdered from hate of not knowing that love comes in different forms.
Not just from a woman tied to a man like we see in the magazines.
Tears coming from my eyes knowing that this is how they'll end.
Together the two boys walked down the street holding hands without giving a care.
Showing pride to the society that tends to detest their kind, breaking them down law by law.
Watching from the distance wishing that everything goes well for the both of them.
Hoping that they have the strength and a very tight bond for each other.
Since people will do anything to tear them apart from each other.
'Cause when two boys kissed, the parents found out the news from the community.
Anger burning through their veins, banning the boys from seeing each other.
Moving to a different state, changing their phone number to no longer stay in contact.
Breaking apart what seemed true love, sending their sons to church trying to force god on them.
A bitter ending to a tale that had promise to last for a lifetime.
But now I find myself witnessing this story told right in front of me.
And though I've heard and read about it a thousand times long before.
It's different when it's actually played out in front of you, changing your life.
Tearing at my heart knowing that the two boys that once stood before me
Can no longer express their passion to one another since now they're separated.
All from the ignorance that society teaches for everyone to plant deep inside their minds.
And what makes this tale much far worse, they still feel love for one another no matter
What crazy punishment the parents put them through for the rest of their lives.
'Cause when two boys kissed, they expressed their love and trust to one another.
Knowing that what they had was something true and not fake like the act people put.
But when the two boys kissed, the finale of their tale was coming more quickly than thought.
Now they're both at different parts of the world, dreaming of the time they had together.
Wishing that they can be back into each others arms, feeling like they belonged.
And maybe they can be since love knows no limits...
