It's finally the weekend, the two days of the week that all of us (or at least I) like the most. The day when we can actually get the recommended nine hours of sleep (or more, depending on who you are). Everybody's getting ready for Halloween. I have not dressed up since many years ago, since almost every costume that fits my size is either too childish, or is labelled skanky kitten, or slutty witch, or something like that. Just proves that Halloween has become a bit too commercialized nowadays. Today, a lot of students in my school dressed up...not according to the school's dress code. Really revealing, and nobody in the school staff said anything. Honestly, apparently because it's halloween, people have the right to show things that people like me don't want to see. Anyways, today, during History, I was sitting back, ignoring the teacher's rambling about her life story, and wondered, Is scary costumes and candy all there is to halloween? I decided to look it up in the internet, and this is what I found.
Halloween's original name is all Hallows eve, and it was a day when many christians used to honor all the saints in heaven, a feast in pagan and christian times, signaling the close of the harvest and the coming of winter. If you want to know more, look it up on the internet. wink Bye to all who are reading this.
