chubacabra theory
This one I honestly don't understand. Many people have approached me with the thoughts that the Jersey Devil could be a chupacabra (literally translated to "goat sucker" wink , the Jersey Devil's cryptozoological cousin from South America, Mexico, and some southern states.

Similarities: Both creatures share a few characteristics: preying on small animals, mysteriously disappearing, and making a high pitched screech.

Conflicts: Where do I begin?! The chupacabra is known for sucking his livestock victims dry of all blood - something the Jersey Devil has never been known to do (he tends to make a bloody mess). Chupacabras typically don't have wings, while most Jersey Devil sightings include massive wings. Chupas are usually small creatures walking on all fours, while the Jersey Devil is known to stand tall on two legs. The physical descriptions even differ - the Jersey Devil has a horse/deer-like face with hooves, while the chupas look like a possessed badger with fangs. Perhaps they are related, but I don't think they're one in the same. (Of course, this is just my opinion.)
