Creative Avatars I was reading my profile comments today, when I realized that I was continuously being distracted by amazing Gaia avatars. I don't know if any staff has said it recently, but you guys are SO creative. It's really amazing for me to look at items I've made in the past used in so many interesting and innovative ways. I've been saving some avatars that have really struck out to me lately, and I'd like to share them. heart MiZZ-JeVee I've been watching "Mad Men" lately, and while the time periods may be different, I love this avatar because it's classy and sleek, with a touch of sass. Love the muted color palette too! MistresBebop Red + White + Black is one of my favorite color combos, and I really like the direction MistressBebop has taken. Reminds me of magicians and gamblers at the same time. XD KG_Hacker This is basically what we had in mind when we were designing the Holy Gauntlet. I like the use of bold yellows and the dramatized theme overall. The Holy Gauntlet is one of my favorite items. ^O^ aiduchi I love how such a wide variety of items work together on this avatar. The color palette is lovely, and I think this is basically what Shiva (from Final Fantasy) would have looked like for me! mrgreen

Oh wow, I really like the last avatar. It's well balanced and uses such pretty shades of blue.

I love looking at avatars too. Every time I go to the arena to vote for a friend or to see the week's winners, I find myself distracted by all the other entries and spend more time than I thought I would browsing them. Ah, and I love seeing the creative ways people use new poses on EI days. And the comment list in artist's journals after they've created something, since often their fans flock in wearing the new items.

There are just so many different items and combinations and themes and OMFG the colors!!! and all that crazy stuff that I can't say I'm terribly surprised at the nifty avvies I see around a lot. It does get a bit overwhelming sometimes, though - I can also spend hours working on an avvie, and sometimes I freeze up, because there are just too many choices. xD

I've been trying to make it a point lately to PM people whose avatars really strike me as awesome. Strangers, people I know slightly or well, it doesn't matter. A lot of people tend to appreciate random friendly "Your avatar rocks" type comments. It's like, I dunno, my contribution to the "Gaian Beautification Project" ... if there is such a thing. xd

I've liked seeing the Avatar Spotlight on the home page again, it's great to see great avatars highlighted for a day or three. 3nodding

This highlights what I love the most about Gaia, the creativity of our developers and members. heart With you guys making awesome items, we have a great venue for expressing our creativity. I absolutely adore when I see an item that's been ignored by the majority of the population used in such a way that it astounds everyone.

Aiduchi's avatar is simply amazing. I love it.

It seems I'm having a bit of a layering problem with Mistress High Heels and Twilight Sparkle Skin. Whenever I wear any kind of the Mistress High Heels while having the Twilight Sparkle Skin equipped, I get some nasty green goo around the feet. My only idea on why this is because the shoes change the feet a bit.

I love how you can layer the Twilight Skin over other equitable skin (as if it is a tattoo) and I would truly love it to stay that way. It would also be love if it would work better with the shoes but only if it can stay on the tattoo layer. User Image

Well thanks for appreciating all these avi's. I think it's nice when Artists and Dev's communicate so personally with the Users. Otherwise they all feel distant and cold....so cold...
Anywho, nice gesture. I appreciate it.

The more items we get, the more facinating the avatars get. I used to go for more realistic outfits but nowdays I've gone full out into the creative side. I don't know how other people feel about my outfits (thought my Star Child one got a lot of comments!) but I love tweaking them until they make me happy to see every day I log on =D

I love to see posts like this, because I always wonder how you guys as artists feel when you see the beautiful items you've designed on avatars. Especially your comment on the holy gauntlet avi - how you saw the MC vs how people equip it!

I'd love to see more journal posts like this whee heart

Thank you for the beautiful items you give us. I love spending an hour or two on my Sunday off just fiddling round on tektek and creating a new avi.

With the sheer volume of items on gaia, there are so many amazing combinations. My avs always look weird because I use waaaay too many evolving items.

Found a layering issue, not sure if this one has been mentioned before - the long hair (Heinan hairstyle) is showing on the inside of my cloak from Spring Nymph, when it should be behind the cloak. :*(

I had been wondering the same as Sinsario, so it's cool to see what the devs like 3nodding (Maybe you could persuade other devs to do the same? ;D)

@ Macabeak: I think a lot of the devs also come up with really creative avatars, but I don't think I do... XD I want to create awesome avatars too, but I dunno, I always seem to have trouble doing it. It always feels like I'm missing something...
