the talk from Jamie Andrews today was...amazing...it was suuu emotional!
him and one of his best friends went climbing up this really steep cliff in France...Le Droites, I think it was...anyhoo, on their second day ther was this immense storm, so, they had to climb to the top with avalanches of snow falling on them...when they got to the top, they couldn't start the descent, because the would basically be suicidal...so, they had to clear a ledge of snow to sleep on for the night. The next morning, the storm was worse...a helicopter came but was unable to pick them up, so, in all, they were sitting on the top of this 1000m high cliff for a total of 5 days... eek is what I thought when I heard that! His friend slipped into a comma on the 4th day and didn't make it...but, he was rescued. He lost both his hands and feet to frost-bite...well, actually, they couldn't decide yet how much needed to be amputated...but, he went into sceptic shock...and when he woke up, they amputated both his hands and feet sad
such a story...but, now, he still climbs, does everything he used to, but, he isn't going to go back to Le Droites...and, at the very end, he juggled!! he designs lots of things to help him to every-day things, and took 2 net thingies from a kid's shop and manages to juggle with them! such a kewl guy...he's got a book out and was signing copies for people, but I didn't manage to get one gonk
anyhoo, that was most of my day!
