Kyo blinked. “What? You’re sick?” She looked at Ryu. He rubbed the back of his head. “Yeah…guess I didn’t tell you that….” He sighed looking at her. “Sorry.” She sighed. “Ryu what is it?” He looked up at the sky. “Well…it’s something the lab did to me.” He closed his eyes. Mrs. Nazuke leaned over towards Kyo whispering in her ear. “His DNA signature has a few cat genes in it….giving him cat ears and a tail.” His ears twitched under his hat. “I can hear every word you saying” He glared at them getting up. He started off. “Ryu!” Kyo growled going after him. He walked out of the park going across the street and disappearing into the busy crowds. He’s good…. She sighed going back to Mrs. Nazuke. “He’s gone…for now.” She sighed. “Kyo lets go out for dinner tonight what do you say?” She smiled “Sure.” They got up walking off.
Ryu ran off back to Hatsumi’s house. When he came in she blinked. “Where’s Kyo?” He looked at her. “She’s with Mother…” He closed his eyes sitting down on the floor in the hallway looking in to the kitchen. “I think they are having dinner together.” He sighed. Hatsumi looked at him. “You all right Ryu?” He nodded. “I’m fine. Just kind of upset.” He walked into the living room getting the stuffed cat going back to the hallway. He hugged the cat looking in at the tile floor in the kitchen. “Hatsumi…” She blinked. “Yes Ryu?” He looked at her. “You don’t have to make me anything. I’m just tired…” She sighed. “Ill leave out a plate of something for you.” He smiled. “Thanks.” He walked upstairs keeping the cat close to him. He went to his bedroom lying down on the bed. He closed his eyes soon drifting off slowly.
Kyo and Mrs. Nazuke walked into a bar. Kyo was just in legal range to drink. Mrs. Nazuke was well over it. They ate then went to the bar having drinks. Kyo wasn’t drunk. She didn’t like the taste of alcohol that much. Mrs. Nazuke just had a glass of wine, as well as Kyo. Once they went out they walked off to some place. They left each other Mrs. Nazuke going to the lab again and Kyo heading to Hatsumi’s house. When she got there she knocked on the door. It wasn’t that late. Hatsumi blinked coming to the door, opening it seeing Kyo. “Kyo!” She smiled letting her in. Kyo came in taking off her shoes. “Ryu’s asleep. He seemed upset when he came home…what happened?” She sighed. “I don’t know. I guess his Mother said a little to much of his past and he didn’t want to hear it. Hatsumi sighed. “He hasn’t talked much about his past to me. I only really know about you two and room 13.” She sighed. “It wasn’t to long ago that I met him. I was walking home from school. It was a light rain….I heard…crying so I looked around seeing him in a pipe. I offered him a place to stay and we became quick friends.” Kyo smiled. “Its not the same story with me. I work at that lab as you know. I was assigned to that room and met Ryu. He threw a cat toy at me along with a book…I think.” She smiled. “A book? Wow. He really must have had the wrong impression about you.” She sighed. “Yeah, when I came in he thought I was going to do testing on him. That’s why.” Hatsumi smiled. “Your welcome to stay the night. I think Ryu needs to talk to you tomorrow…” She smiled. “Thank you.” She bowed. They walked into the living room talking for most of the night. Hatsumi turned in at the same time Kyo did. When she laid in the guest bedroom her only thought was. Ryu….
