Ryu smiled walking off to the ice cream shop from the park. Kyo was behind him. I can’t believe I’m going to have to bring him back to the lab….he’s so happy with Hatsumi. I would hate to see what would happen to him if I did take him back…. She looked at him. He’s so happy like this I would hate to take it away from him…. He looked over at her. “Kyo…are you all right?” He tilted his head. “Yeah….I’m fine….” When they got to the ice cream shop it said “Blue Seal” They walked in going up the counter. “Hmmmmm” He smiled. “Ill take a cherry ice cream with chocolate fudge on it. Oh and in a cup please.” She looked at him. “Still like chocolate I see.” He grinned from ear to ear. “Yeah.” She smiled. “I would like a rainbow sherbet please.” They both got their ice cream Ryu paying.
They sat down at a table set off to the side. He smiled looking at her. “Kyo…I’m sorry I ran away.” He said breaking the silence. She blinked. “Ryu don’t think about it. That was 2 years ago.” She smiled. “But still…I shouldn’t have….it was just that look in mother’s eyes. They looked….disappointed….Like I let her down by leaving the testing room.” He closed his eyes. “I-I’m sorry….” He felt a felt a few tears stream down his face. She leaned over the table hugging his neck. “Shhhhh Ryu. Its all right now. I’m sure she’s gotten over it.” He looked at her. “How can you say that?! After everything I did!” He hissed softly trying not to be noticed. “Its because I care! Why is it so hard for you to get that?!” She growled letting go of him. They both started on their ice cream in silence. He just looked down the whole time. She looked over at him with worried eyes. Even if he wasn’t human but he looked like it…he still had feelings. She knew that but she ignored it. “Ryu…I’m sorry.” He looked up slightly at her. “You know why its hard for me to believe that.” She blinked. “No…” When she looked at him….looked in his eyes they seemed distant. Wonder what he was been thinking about….. “Even tough all the care you gave me…everything Hatsumi has given me….I didn’t get anything like what you or Hatsumi has given me when I was younger. Always being tested on. Nonstop no matter how cruel it was….” She blinked. There really is a lot more to him that I don’t know…. She got up walking to the other side of the table sitting next to him. “Ryu…don’t think dwell on things in the past. It won’t make you feel any better now.” He looked at her. “I know but its hard to forget things like that…” He smiled weakly. She sighed. “I imagine. From my thoughts it sounds like the first few years of your life in that lab was a horror movie.” He chuckled. “I one way or anther.” He looked at the empty cup on the table. “Ryu do you want to see Mrs. Nazuke?” He blinked. “Kyo. I don’t think that would be a good idea me going back to that lab…” She sighed. “True. Maybe I can get her out here?” He nodded slightly. “I don’t thinks she will even recognize me.” She smiled. “Ryu don’t worry about it. But would you like to see her now?” He smiled. “Sure….” He smiled closing his eyes. Wonder what she will think of me now since its been two years…wonder if she’s forgotten me….No! I shouldn’t think about things like that…..dwelling on the past isn’t good….is it?
