How many years can someone remain resolute?
How long can you go
without sight or sound of familiar or family?
You may for a time, but all things have need.
After three days, exhaustion.
After four, you begin to starve.
After a week, dehydration saps at your lips,
bloody and white.
After how much time does it take
for someone's mind to slip and their heart pain?
Is the brother truly the keeper
or is it the brother's friend?
Can even the most evil change?
