Chapter 5
We walked into the meeting chamber and there sitting around a circler table were the five great mages; Soji: the wind mage, Shyao: the water mage, Jasper: the fire mage, Jamela: the earth mage, and the master of all four elements: Yondaime. All five of the great mages sitting before us. I was truly was amazed at there youth, Yondaime, being the oldest out of the five looked not a day over twenty-five, and all the rest looked as if they were still in high school! But Daniel prepared me for this so I didn’t having my mouth hanging open like an idiot.
The mages stood when the door opened and bowed to us as we entered. Now this was a surprise, I wasn’t prepared for this, but I kept my cool. We gave a slight bow in return, and then took our seats.
“Thank you for coming to listen to us, Prince Daniel, Princess Emily.” Yondaime started off.
“Yondaime, no need to be so formal old friend.” Daniel said this with a smile.
“Yeah! We haven’t seen you guys in ages!” the way Emily said this you could tell she was a teenager.
“But, I do not believe we have met this fine young woman who is seated next to you. My name is Yondaime; this is Soji, Shyao, Jasper, and Jamela. And may I ask what your name is?”
“My name is Katherine; it is a pleasure to meet you all.” I blushed slightly, but said it with confidence.
“Princess Katherine, the pleasure is ours.” Shyao smiled at me, smiled back.
“Please, just drop the titles. It’s very embarrassing.” Daniel said, a slight blush appeared on his cheeks.
Yondaime laughed, “Daniel you have not changed much, but now we must get down to business. There have been attacks on eight vampire villages, ten on mage villages, five werewolf villages, six troll villages, and about fifteen assorted daemon villages. There have been multiple attacks on griffin, thunderbird, hydra, gorgon, kraken, chimaera, basilisk, harpy, loch ness, goblin, and yeti nests and caves. We’re not sure who is directing these attacks, but the only reason we know they’re connected left on doors, walls, and the ground.” Shyao takes out a piece of cloth and hands it to Yondaime, “this is the symbol they’ve left each time.” Yondaime unrolls the cloth and sets it in front of us.
The symbol was a pentagram, but it had these weird characters inside free space. The only symbol I did recognize was the one in the middle of the star, “I know what the one in the middle means, but I forget what they call it. It means they’re against the government. So who’s the government of the world of myth?” I asked.
“We are...” Daniel replied.
Jasper spoke, “The royal vampire family has always ruled, well that is once things got under hand. Daniel’s ancestors made sure that our existence was kept a secret. Why someone would want to get ride of them would be stupid, unless they were planning to try to take over the human world. But that would only lead to chaos…”
“Unless that is their plan…” everyone looked at me, I continued to speak, “I mean…once the world is in chaos the creatures and humans would both look for a leader, someone to tell them what to do. And the person who set this up would step forward, so the person has to have a human appearance or be able to look like a human for long periods of time.”
“She is right, whoever is doing this must gain something, and most likely it is control of the world.” said Soji.
“But who would do such a thing?” We all pondered the question that Jamela had put into perspective.
“Whoever it is, we ain’t gonna let them destroy our peace!” Everyone turned to see Cameron and the rest of the werewolves I’d met come into the room.
“I’m sorry your majesty, but he insisted that I get you for him, and when I opened the door he and his friends went right through the door. I’m sorry my lord, I-,”The guard was cut off by a wave of dismissal by Daniel.
“Sorry Danny, but dad sent me and the boys here to talk about what’s been happening lately.” said Cameron.
“It’s okay Cameron, I understand. Yondaime and the other mages were just running what has been happing by us. And I have to say it disturbs me greatly. Someone who wants to destroy the peace my family created, they will have to answer to me!” I grabbed Daniel’s hand and squeezed it to reassure him I was there.
“Sorry Daniel, Katherine, Emily, Cameron, and other werewolves, but we must be going; we have to go Duke Austin of America. They seem to be having an oni problem, onis all the way out in America! Something bad is happening to our world.” With that Yondaime and the other mages left.
“Come, we’ll talk over dinner. I’m sure you guys are hungry too.” said Daniel.

We walked to the dining hall were a fest was prepared for us; it looked like it was prepared for eighty people, but I guess the cooks were prepared for the appetite of five teenage werewolves.
“So Cameron…what seems to be the problem I wolf country?” Daniel asked.
“Humans…more and more humans keep moving into the country and mountains. Lots of hunters…they keep hunting what they think are wolves! Right before we came, Ben was out hunting and was shot in the leg. We’re lucky that the hunters don’t use sliver bullets, otherwise many would be dead. That’s pretty much it, in a nutshell.” Cameron took another bite of what I think was some kind of bird at one time.
“I see…” Daniel looked his food, trying to figure out what was happening.
“Other clans have been reporting the same thing, humans moving into their homes. I don’t like it…” Emily told every one, “if they wanted to the could probably figure out secrets that could get them killed by law of some clans…I don’t like our odds of having to nationally tell the world of our existence…”
“Even if we did do that the government would take people for experiments in places like top secret labs that are right under the nose of your average everyday human. Cause I was one of those everyday average humans once, I know what it means. If we did reveal our world to them it would most likely cause world wide chaos, for both sides. It’s like trying to see what’s on the other side of the moon! Humans would fear us, because to them we’re unnatural, an oddity, the odd man out. It doesn’t matter what we would do, it could take years for them just to accept the idea, and longer for them to stop shunning and fearing us.” I was shocked at myself for giving the little speech I just had, but everyone agreed with me.
“Girl’s got a point; they would probably want to use werewolves and others of our world in war. And I bet them would try to capture vampires, and then do tests on them to figure out how to be ‘immortal’ too. If anything humans are the true evil in this world, not onis or basilisks. No offence Katherine.” Rico said.
“None taken I understand, even as a human I knew that we were the cause of destroying our planet.” I shrugged, “It doesn’t bother me…”
“Your highness…” said a voice from out in the hall.
“What is it?” Daniel said.
“There is someone here to see you…” said the voice.
“MOVE!! LET ME THROUGH!!-“ Whoever was yelling was interrupted by someone saying something to them. “I DON’T CARE!! THEY KNOW WHO I AM, SO LET ME THROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!” All of a sudden a small girl with two huge black dogs following her came through the door. “I can’t believe the nerve of them! Who doesn’t know me in this godforsaken house!” The girl looked around and then saw us.
“Hey Molly! I didn’t know you were coming over today, what’s up?” said Emily.
“Problems, that’s what. Tamers and their dogs have gone missing. And no one likes the thought of black dogs in the hands of humans.” The girl Molly, looked like she was in fifth grade, had long brown hair, brown eyes behind glasses. She looked like a normal human.
“why don’t you sit down and eat some and we’ll have the cooks prepare some food for Donta and Kame. So just relax for now and eat for now we shall finish this discussion tomorrow.” Daniel said this with such authority that no one argued.
After dinner Daniel and I walked hand in hand to our room. We walked in silence till we came to the end of the corridor, and to my right was a door.
“Our room.” Said Daniel cheerfully, “shall we go in?”
“Sure…” I replied, taken aback by his new mood and the smile he had on his face. All of a sudden I was falling; Daniel had swept me up off my feet and was holding me. “OH MY GOD! Daniel you scared the s**t out of me!! That was so not cool-“
I was cut off by Daniel’s lips on my and before I knew it I had my arms around his neck and was kissing him back. The next moment I felt the bed underneath me. My mind started to put the figures together in my head; I started to freak.
“Daniel…” I managed to squeak out before his lips where on mine again. And then I did the only thing that I could think of to have stop, I froze.
Daniel froze as soon as I did, “Kat…I’m sorry…didn’t mean to…I-“
I cut him off with my finger, and smiled. “It’s okay, but is there any way to keep me from getting pregnant? Cause I know we’re going to end up going to war soon, I could tell be how the air felt in the meeting room, everyone was so tense. We can’t bring a child into a war it would be to hard-“ This time Daniel cut me off with a smile.
“So that means you’ll marry me then?” Daniel asked.
“Yes.” I said quietly, and I could feel my checks flush.
Daniel kissed me then got up and almost ran to a glass case on the other side of the room. Took something out of the case and ran back to the bed where I was now sitting up on.
When Daniel got back to the bed, he took a knee on the floor, “Katherine, will you marry me?” He opened a small box in his hand, inside was a ring. It had one diamond in the middle with five larger diamonds around it; they were set in a pure white gold band.
I could feel the tears running down my face. Daniel whipped the tears away with his hand, and then he took my left hand and put it on my ring finger.
Next thing I know he’s kissing me and we’re fussing with each other’s clothes. We slowly sink into the bed.

I woke around 3 in the morning; I could tell Daniel was still asleep next to me. I got up slowly, I could feel aches, but they weren’t painful more pleasure full…I think that’s how you could describe it, I’m not sure. I walked slowly to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and got in, the hot water flowed along my body like a river, touching every part, soothing my aches.
After about 30 minutes I got out and dried off and walked to the closet. Inside I found modern day clothes, shocked I started to walk around my closet that was as big as my old room, looking at all the clothes.
“Shocked?” I jumped at the sound of Daniel’s voice. “Emily told me that dad wants to make you as comfy as possible.” He looked me up and down and smiled. “Through what you’re wearing now looks great!”
I blushed; I still hadn’t put on any clothes. I quickly found some underwear, a bra, some skinny jeans, and a black Fall Out Boy t-shirt. “Stop being a pervert! Are you going to take a shower?” I asked.
“Yeah…after I get out do you want to go down and get breakfast or get some room service?” he walked to the bathroom and turned on the shower.
“We could get room service?” I asked.
“Yeah if you want to…they’ll bring you anything you want to eat up here if we call down.” He said as he got in.
“I would rather go down and eat with everyone else…I’ll wait for you in the room.” I said as I walked out of the bathroom.
I went and sat on the bed, and looked around at the room. There were three glass cabinets. I got up to look inside them, one held a bunch of trinkets. The second held pictures of Daniel, Emily, Cameron, and Molly; the 3rd held pictures and trinkets. The pictures consisted of Daniel’s dad and a very beautiful lady who I think was Daniel’s mom. One such picture had a heading that read Elizabeth.
“That was our mom; she died when Emily was three. Dad loved her more than anything, lucky for us he didn’t shut himself off from the world, but he got a hell of a lot harder on me. Ready to go get breakfast?” His mood changed so fast that I was shocked. But I didn’t let it show on my face.
“Yep! Let’s go!” We walked out of our room holding hands.
