"Do either of you guys know where we are?"
As the three friends stood on top of a hill, looking out into vast plains of nothingness, a munching noise could be heard.
"But Brock, you're in charge of the map!"
"Uhh..." The Pokemon breeder pointed behind him, where Munchlax(1) had the map sticking half out of his mouth.
Dawn moaned, "Oh Munchlax! You idiot, look what you did! Now we're lost!"
Ash smiled and patted the girl on the back, "Don't worry Dawn. I'll send Starly out to find a way to the nearest town."
"But my Pokemon competition is in one week! We'll never make it to Diamond Gate City(2) in time! Waaaaaaaah!"
"Are you three lost?"
Startled, Ash Dawn and Brock turned to find four figures in cloaks. A man, two women and a boy. Their hoods were up, conceiling their faces. They looked kinda creepy.
Ash was the first one to speak up, "Uh, yeah. We're lost, but....who are you?"
A chimchar popped it's head up over the boy's shoulder. It jumped dpwn and ran forward. Pikachu did the same. The two Pokemon met in between the two groups and started talking. After a few moments, the Pokemon ran back to their respective owners.
Pikachu started ranting something that only Ash would understand. But, he conveyed the message to Dawn and Brock.
"Pikachu says we can trust them."
The Chimchar had relayed a similar message to the boy, who nodded at the man, who stepped forward and drew back his hood.
Dawn gasped. This guy was HOT! He was pale-skinned, with short black hair that covered his left eye. And the right eye was a beautiful ice-blue color(3).
"My name is Hideki. I'm the leader of a small group known as the Pokemon Assassin's." At the frightened looks on the three faces, He brought his hands up in defense, "Wait, no! It's not like it sounds! They calls us the assassin's because we've never been beaten in a Pokemon battle. We 'assassinate' the competition."
Ash got an evil glint in his eye, "Is that so? Well then. Hideki! I challenge you to a-"
"No."
"Huh?"
It was the taller of the two women who had spoken. She stepped forward and drew back her hood as well.
Brock swore his jaw hit the ground. She was a BABE! He'd seen a lot of pretty girls, but she was, by far, the prettiest. She had long, dark blue hair in a low ponytail, and her eyes were a deep violet color. In her left ear was a moon-shaped earing. He rushed in...
"Hello my beaut-"
...And his face was met by a fist. Hideki's fist.
"Oh, so you're that kinda guy, huh? I can tell I ain't gonna like you," Hideki rubbed his fist as Brock collapsed at his feet with a bloody nose,"You ever go near my girl again, I might just reconsider my team's name."
"Your....girl?" Brock asked around a mouthful of dirt.
"Yes, I'm his girlfriend. Name's Luna. Nice to meet you." The downed breeder whimpered as Luna dug the heel of her shoe into the back of his hand.
Ash and Dawn laughed, though in truth, these two scared them
Hideki looked toward the blunette, "So, Luna. Why did you stop him? I think he was gonna challenge me to a Pokemon battle."
"That's EXACTLY why I stopped him. We don't have time, and your Pokemon have to rest up for the competition. We need to get to Diamond Gate"
Dawn's eyes lit up and she gasped, "You're in the competition?"
Hideki blinked at her,"Yes...Me, Luna, and my little brother," He pointed to the hooded boy,"We're all in the competition. Why?"
Dawn had dissapeared. When eyes found her again, she was on the ground. She'd attached herself to Hideki's leg.
"PLEASE! PLEASE TAKE US WITH YOU!! WE'RE LOST AND I NEED TO GET TO DIAMOND GATE 'CAUSE I'M ALSO IN THE COMPETITION! PLEASE!?"
Luna glared at the younger girl on her boyfriend's leg, "If you're in the competition, that means you're our enemy," Then, she smiled,"But, I guess we could be friends until then, huh?"
Dawn squeeled so loud, everyone had to cover their ears. When she had calmed down, Luna, Hideki, and the boy laughed.
The other woman, however, was silent. She couldn't take her eye's off of the wanna-be Pokemon master, Ash Ketchum.

At noon on the first day the two groups were traveling together, it's like they'd been friends forever. Luna helped Brock make lunch, Hideki keeping a close eye on them as he sat and talked with Ash. And Dawn and the boy, Mizu-Ryo(4), were training their Pokemon in a field a short ways away. Mizu-Ryo, like his older brother Hideki, had black hair, but his eyes were a gray-blue color. The other woman sat watching them. She still hadn't removed her hood, and she wouldn't talk either.
"So Hideki, since we're stopped for lunch anyway, why don't we have that battle?"
"Nah"
Ash looked over to the older man in shock, "What? Why?"
"I'm worried about M."
"M?"
"Her," Hideki nodded his head in the direction of the hooded woman,"We met her only a few days ago. She wouldn't tell us her real name, so she just told us to call her M. She's a really good trainer though. She beat Mizu and nearly beat Luna, so we decided to let her join us. She's usually not this quiet though..."
Ash looked at M. He wondered what she looked like, under that hood. Was she as good looking as Luna? Speaking of which...
"Aaaah! You pervert!"
Hideki was up in an instant, going to pound Brock into the dirt. Ash decided to take this time to try and talk to M. Getting up from his spot on the grass, he walked over and plopped down next to her. She looked at him for a moment, then back towards the kids battle. She wasn't interested, it seemed.
"Hey ummm....M? You don't have to talk to me if you don't want, but Hideki says he's worried about you. Just let him kn ow you're okay, uh...okay?"
Nothing. Sheesh! This girl was difficult..
"Hey Guys!" Luna called to them, "Lunch is ready!"
"Great!" Mizu-Ryo yelled, calling back his Magmar, "Let's go eat Dawn!"
"Okay, Coming!"
Still silent, M got up and followed them, leaving Ash alone with Pikachu.
"What's her problem Pikachu?"
"Pika?"
"Hey Ash, Come on!" It was Brock this time, and it sounded like he had a swollen lip. Ash smiled.
"Yeah, I'm coming!"
