So I was browsing around Gaia today and I came across the manga for the plot. It's pretty cool! As well as funny. I was interested in finding more of the story so I wandered around a bit more and found the MMVII clips in the cinema. My computer was being stupid, so I had to look them up on YouTube. Anywho, I've just gotta say.....wow....that was............fairly bad. I'm not saying the plot or the voices were terrible, those were both fine, but, I'm a technical animator, that's what I do, and their animation was.....ouch bad. It hurt my head to watch it. They need to have a serious talk with their production company or SOMETHING, cause I've seen school projects that were better. Joints popped, people had no eyelids, motions were jerky, and collision planes were sloppy.
I don't mean to be so critical, but I was all excited for an animated Gaia plot, and what I saw was second rate. Maybe they should have stuck with a 2D animtion or anime style and stayed away from 3D. Some people are really good at 2D and hit snags with 3D, and vise versa. I'm sure if they keep at it, eventually they'll get it down. I mean, it's only in Alpha. All in all, keep trying Gaia! I know you'll get it! And if you have troubles.......call me up! ^.^
