Chapter 3: The Anomaly When the light finally receded, Issac blinked in surprise to see himself in a fell-lit study. Standing opposite him was a man who appeared no older than his father, but seemed to be much, much older. He was wearing a monk's robe that was made of some sort of shimmering cloth, but that was not what was the most remarkable about him. His eyes were. One was emerald green, with no pupil to be seen. The other seemed to be made of glass, albeit very reflective glass.
A mirror...? he thought.
"No," said the man, "diamond."
Issac realized that his was the voice he had heard in the white space. "Where am I, and who are you?" he demanded.
"I go by many names, but you may call me Trinity. As to where you are, Let us call it... The Anomaly. In actuality, it is an extradimensional space; timeless, and unconnected to the rest of the multiverse. There are only three other spots like this in the whole of Existence."
"Oooo-kay," said Issac, "I only understood about half of that, but I'm just going to run with it. You said earlier that I'm not dead. If that's true, then how did I get here?"
"I brought you here at the last moment," said Trinity, "You were very lucky, you know, that I happened to be watching your sector when I was. Here, sit," he said, gesturing with his hand, and a comfortable-looking chair appeared behind Issac.
He sat. It was comfortable.
