I read this in a book last night and thought it was really pretty. And before people start freaking out or gossping or jumping to conclusions or whatever, no, it's not directed at anyone. I just liked it and wanted to share with my friends smile
Love Song (From Primavera, Francesca Lia Block)
I know you will not be my lover but I can't stop this waiting and perhaps we were different flesh once radiant in the sand and we traced our fingers over the beads and amulets of white gold jasmine stones and we were lost in each other's long river hair and maybe I was the man with the huge glorious wrists and you were a woman with fragile hips and shrouded eyes and we bore a child and wandered wearing white robes through the coral pink sands a child together a boy who swam in the eye-blue water by the pink shore and came up dripping with pearls and singing and we wore palm leaf crowns and ate the dates that split with sweetness and later the bodies were one and in the tomb the ashes sifted together and the selves' souls found other bodies aso now when I see or hear you I am wild to bury myself into you to be buried into like a grave like a tomb like a garden and my spirit remembers and shakes this new body that it soo small to contain the man's love and I am overcome to be one -----------------------------------
I generally don't like free verse, but I just love this. I have no idea why it touches me so much. smile I just wanted to share. I hope you all like it too.
