Azuma Kazuma Also known as: Japan, moron, genius Age: 16 Ethnicity: Japanese Family: sister, parents, grandparents (the pair he lives with), grandfather (whom he visits). Distinguishing feature: Relentless drive to make the perfect Japan. A young boy with Solar Hands and the story's main protagonist, Azuma is a delightful mix of optimistic, ignorant, and bread-making genius. When he was 6 years old, his sister Inaho took him to a bakery and gave him his first taste of real, well-made bread, and he fell in love with it. The owner of that bakery told Azuma of his dream to make Japan, a bread that would represent Japan, and Azuma now carries that dream on for the man, who has not been seen since. Azuma may not know the technical terms of what everything does or be as knowledgeable as Kuroyanagi or Kanmuri, but he knows what tastes good, has an excellent sense of what goes with what, and follows his feelings, which haven't let him down. He is a great friend to everyone and, most of the time, can be found in a happy, smiley mood.
