here's how i make money:

i was here for 10 months before i learned i could make 50 gold a day by posting ONE WORD in my journal each day. do this at least once a day.

you probably know you get 50 gold for posting the first time each day in a forum. gotta do this once a day.

you probably know you get 40 gold for posting the first time each day on someone's profile. gotta do it.

5 minutes to do all three together. 140 gold right there.

in the arenas you can vote pretty quickly. 14 gold for your first vote, and then it goes down. by the time you're hitting 2 gold per vote, you've made 50-60 gold for sure. this takes about 5 minutes.

now we're at 200 gold in less than 10 minutes really.

do the daily chance. sometimes you only get 25 gold when you add up all 8 machines. other times i've had 150 or more, especially if i get an item i can sell.

it usually sucks, so let's call it 50 gold on average. now we're at 250. depending on your modem speed this usually takes about 2-5 minutes.

also, as a side note, i sell the tokens and fishbait in the market about once every two weeks. i sell 200 tokens for 155 gold, and 6 fishbait for 105 gold. you only get these from the "games" daily chance machine, but keep an eye out for them. sometimes you get lucky and get 50 tokens at once. sometimes i even have gotten 2 fishbaits. these items when put in the market usually sell in less than an hour. the buyer gets a good deal, and i get rid of some worthless trash i never use. (this doesn't even count toward the 400-500 per day gold. it's just bonus.)

so, you're aware that each time you do a thing you get a bit less gold. one way to maximize your gold for profiles and forums after the first post is putting a little bit of time inbetwen each one. you can post one word in the "welcome to gaia" forum, for example, such as "WELCOME!" i like to write something a little funny and post it there, using the "copy/paste" buttons. that keeps my brain more with it. and, if i don't have enough friends in my list or who have commented me recently on my profile, i comment people from the forum itself. but the idea here is go back and forth. do one forum post, wait a little, do one profile post, wait a little, then back to the forums. that makes the gold much better. i average 100 gold for this, and spend 15 minutes doing it as slow as i can. by the time you've made 5-6 comments you're getting so little gold it's not worth it anymore. plus, you'll have been clicking around a lot and have some "surfing gold" too. this usually earns me another 100 gold or so.

so we're at 350 gold for 20 minutes play.

last, i go into jigsaws and play 6-8 EASY jigsaws really fast. i do the same one over and over so i get fast at it. sometimes i get bored and do a different one, but the point is to make gold, not whether or not i'm bored. this earns the extra 150 gold, more if you keep playing a little longer. 20 minutes to do this, cause we're talking easy jigsaws.

then you've made your 500 gold for the day, and you can do whatever the hell you want to after that.
