The Elves, particularly the Drow, have fallen into bad favor in recent years.
People see the Drow as being "Dark elves" due to the darker nature of their skin. Because of this, Serras-Kai hides his identity using a powerful illusion.
But what were the Drow really like?
The kingdom of Thein, 792 years ago:
The world is at war. After a meteor struck and cast confusion into the leylines of magic, the world turned against one another.
Countries fell.
Men, women, and children, died.
It came down to three countries:
The massive knigdom of Morsir,
The equally large kingdom of I'thica,
And the one stretch of land that linked them:
The city-state of Thein.
The city knew its Morsirian allies could not hold back the tides of war, and Thein gathered it greatest scientist and most powerful mages.
Together, Thein lifted into the air, and became, all at once, a flying fortress.
But all was not well.
The kingdom of I'thica has predicted such a move, and destroyed three fourths of the city.
Beaten but alive, I'thica re-named Thein "Callous Skies"
roughly meaning:
"Death from above."
But Morsir cared about its final ally, and 100 men, including the king of Morsir and the Prince of Thein, led an attack that was believed to have destroyed the city.
As time passed, the city was renamed Azer Skies by the Prince, but it soon faded into obscure legend.
An eternity passed.
Now treasure hunters and scientist alike scour the eorld for what remains of the most technologically advanced civilization ever,
and the forgotten builders of this legendary city.
