For those who read my stories, I tend to write them horribly out of order, I also post them out of order. So here is a quick time line for how my main character, Kit, lived out her life so you can figure out where things fall. Hopefully it’s easy to understand and I’ll avoid spoilers where I can.
Early Life (1-6 yrs old)
There are a lot of spoilers so I can’t talk about how she came to be because it’s a big mystery. But I can tell you this. When Kit was four years old she found out she was adopted and that she had supernatural abilities, when she was attacked by a vampire and cast what is called a silent spell to kill it. She attacked again the next day but a demon hunter names Kite saves her and gives her a spell book. She begins to study everything she can about magic but is for the most part unaffected because demons mostly leave her alone. The characters in this era are mostly herself, Kite, and the 7Cs, her seven older cousins - especially her cousin Cole, who is like her twin brother. The most important events here are finding magic and meeting Kite.
Richard (6-10 yrs old)
Everything for Kit changes the day she meets Richard Trent and Sarah Watson. She meets Sarah, a girl her age with powers -she’s six by the way. Sarah doesn’t know that she has powers and when demons mistake her for Kit they try to kill her but Kit saves her life, nearly dying in the process. A young man named Richard Trent happens upon her as she’s dying and happens to be a magical. He saves her life and introduces her into the magical world. He takes on the role of her big brother He belongs to one of the most powerful magical organizations in the world, Goldman & Trent (GMT). His dad is the president of what the mortal world thinks is a law firm. Kit begins to really train and learn about her skills. This is when those around her learn that she is prodigy. The characters in this era are Cole, Sarah, Richard, Michael Trent, Doc D and Coop, the head of recruitment at GMT. This is also where we first meet Nathaniel Perkins. It is in this era she has first mission and looses her first charge, Isaac. The most important events here are, meeting Richard, her starting to use magic, Isaac’s death and mysterious mission code-named Death-Wish.
The Time Travel Trio (10-11 yrs old)
After her brother, Richard, is murdered on the orders of Nathaniel Perkins, his biological brother Michael, who is also close to Kit, realizes that inside of Kit is a sort of split personality that is a homicidal manic/ psychotic serial killer. Kit forces herself to complete the GMT training and gets assigned to a team called the Time Travel Trio. They get to go on a bunch of really cool missions to the past and the future. It is through this that Kit learns that her strange powers come from the fact that she is what is called an Avarsis. But no one’s ever heard of any such thing and she gets wrapped up in trying to find out what it meant. The people in these stories are Sarah, Cole, Doc D, Steve Peterson - Hands out the missions, her teammates Tyler Mitchell and Lizzy Myers, and Damien - who runs the bar called Magi’s plus assorted others. The most important events are when she has her first kiss, getting clawed by a werewolf and Tyler shooting her.
The Omega Team (11-12 yrs old)
After the fiasco that ended her stead with the Time Travel Trio, Kit is reassigned to the Omega Team. They go on normal missions compared to the Time Travel Trio. Kit is there for a long time and she learns that she isn’t a complete human. She begins to try to crack an equation that Nathaniel Perkins created which holds the key to something important. This is when Kit voices her concerns that their jobs aren’t nearly as black and white as they think they are. The characters you’ll see in these stories are as follows: Cole, Sarah, Doc D, Steve, Damien, Vedas, Zack and her team: Leon, Sam, Kyle, Jimmy, John, Billy, Fred, Joe and Jacob. The most important events in this era are Nathaniel’s death, Kit’s first love, Leon, Leon’s death and being bitten by a vampire.
The Order of the Zodiac (12-13 yrs old)
After the tragic loss of Leon and Sarah’s horrible betrayal, Kit leaves GMT forever and moves away. She decides to retire and give up magic but she is being haunted by Leon’s demonic half from when he was sired by a vampire. She moves to a boarding school and encounters yet another magical team, who call themselves the Order of the Zodiac, as they are infused with the spirits of the Zodiac. Kit learns that she is the Dragon and reluctantly joins the team. This is the first team that she is on where she is not the leader. The characters here are basically her new team: Marian - the horse, Suzie - the cow, Rachel - the dog, Julie -the rat, Jessie -the snake, Ellen - the pig, Anne - the rabbit, Terri -the tiger, Kelly - the sheep, Claire - the rooster, Brooke - the monkey and Yang - the rather cynical spirit of a dragon that Kit has to share her body with. This where she starts to fall down her slope but still does many things for which she is later famous for. In the end to save the world, she lets herself get blamed for a museum robbery so her team can do what needs to be done. The most important evens are her joining with Yang, separating with him and her encounter with Dracula.
Digi Trio (13-14 yrs old)
After leaving the order she leaves behind Yang and suffers deep psychotic break. She moves to another school where she has a run in with a magical computer virus and reluctantly accepts that she’s the only one who can stop it. It is this era she learns all about technology, which she uses later in life. This when she starts smoking. And she learns about the magical protection that was placed upon her at birth that prevents her from doing harm to herself, she discovers it after a suicide attempt. Rather than discouraging her it makes her try more and harder to end the life she now seriously hates. The characters are her two teammates Daniel and Jack. The most important events are her first suicide attempt and her accidental and temporary release of her evil alter ego, The White-Haired Kit. After this point she is absolutely famous in the magical world and must keep her head down, though she’s obviously not very good at it.
The Lookout Guard (14-15 yrs old)
At this point she is seriously deep into retirement, hates all things magical and mostly herself. She has learned to do what the Powers that Be (PTB) tell her to do and barely continues on. She rarely tries to kill herself anymore but she now drinks a lot. The voice of White-Haired Kit has become ever present telling her awful things and about her reasons for killing. Kit can no longer see the line between good and evil and often seems to cross it. This era often brings up the subject of God and Religion for Kit, which she never really considered before. She turns away from it though because she can no longer touch crosses because she was bitten. The Powers That Be take a more active roll in her life. The characters here: Josh, Andy, Connor, Ace, Ethan, Tony, Matt, Hannah, Madison, Martin, Olivia, Isabella, Caitlin, August and Eva. The important events are when she finally meets the real Cair Lagensi, a man she’s dreamed about her whole life, and her departure from the team
The Magical Police (15-16 yrs old)
Kit is once again in her retirement only to be pulled out yet again by a demon with some information she wants. It is captured by the Magical Police, a rather poorly-functioning magical team. When Kit breaks into their supposedly high-tech base to get to the demon, she shocks them all. On the orders of the PTB she joins their team and is disgusted by how they treat their demonic prisoners. They tag them and release them, studying them like animals. She notes that they are likely to be attacked soon but without knowing it her fame and presence protects them. She frequently ignores the rules and they can’t stop her, creating an out of control being. The characters from this era are: Roy, Al, Randy, Alice and Jane. The most important events are when Kit lets a bunch of demons loose and her departure, with her alter ego gaining control of her.
The Nuns (16-16 yrs old - 5 months)
Her evil side refuses to be silent now so the PTB send her to get help. Kit winds up in a convent and the nuns there mistake her for a demon and seal her in a literal hell dimension. Five months of hard work silences the evil Kit and she is able to bust out of there. Because there was one kind nun there she spared them all from what she could do with her. I haven’t named the nuns yet but she meets a few also nameless demons in her hell. The whole thing is an important event.
